What can I say?..

ummm... "GO HUET GO" ?

hehe

I'd take Tucker and Beauchemin back out of that list.

Regardless of whether you hate Tucker, he's like the new version of Claude Lemieux. Relentless pest, hated universally, but has a good set of hands.

ahhh~ NO WAY!!! i DUNT want TUCKER back here!!! the reason is WHY DIDNT HE PLAY AS *GOOD* AS HE IS DOING WITH THE LEAFS WHEN HE WAS WITH MONTREAL?

as for me, i think that he didnt like montreal, and good for him if he like toronto! the difference is that he won't win the cup till the end of his carreer muahahahaha :lol::lol:

I remember red lights 1st appearance against the Laffs in toronto. !st play of the game they win the faceoff to their defence, shoot it in on Andre from there blue line and score between the legs. Didn't get better, I think it was 4 goals in 6 shoots and we pulled him. I have his top prospect card if anyone is interested.

Tucker can burn in hell, who needs such a classless player???

I mean, yea it's always good to have a "pest" on his team, someone who's giving 100% all night - a classy player ala Bégin! Tucker is an idot, a dirty, classless player, a coward I don't want to have with the HABS. He's the right player for a club like the Laffs - they should sign Avery and Marchment to give them 2 more of this type of player.

:angry2: i hate leafs but darcy tucker is old school ijn his style of hockey- we dont want the sport turning wimpy do we?

There is nothing "old school" about Tucker. He is a new school type of pest. Old school to me would go back to guys like Gordie Howe. Very talented, but deadly in the corners with his elbows. On the other hand, there was the guys in the 70's, Schultz, Nilan, Williams, Johnathon, O'Reily.... These guys had very little talent but could fight like nobodies business and all would have laid Tucker out in a second.

So let's see...

In the 50's or 60's he would have been destroyed by Howe in the corners, Rocket would have broken a stick over his head (yes he did that!) and Ferie Sr would have beaten him like a rag doll. Then again he never would have made the NHL back then.

In the 70's, early 80's he could not have been playing his current style or he would have been pounded every night. Someone would come off the bench (anyone remember those days?) and pulverised the little punk. So once again, he would not have made it out of the AHL, were Brubaker, Brown, and the likes would have had fun knocking him around.

Don't know what you consider old school, but believe me, old school was about toughness, not cheap hits and high sticks.

To regress to a post in NHL topics, just think what would have happened to Williams if he had taken Rocket out of a playoff in the 50s with that high stick. Anyone think he would have made it out of Montreal on his own 2 feet? Not without a police escort, and they probably would have beat him themselves. Old school.

Try that against Reg Leech in the '75 playoffs, the whole Flyer team would have beat on him and anyone that tried to stop them. Old school.

As for the game turning wimpy, it already has, but the product is better for it. Go figure.

ok i agree with everything but i dont think the product is better- sure its more exciting to watch- but i love a dirty game- i like the violence - when i firts got into hockey it was one of the main attractions for me.

Hehehe even 'old school' went soft -- Wayne Cashman had 111 PIM in 1973 then 20 minutes in 1983 :P .

And yes I remember when a player would come off the bench! Have always liked gritty play, but didn't much care for the fighting then, and deplore the stickwork now. The fights these days now are so fuggin' choreographed they might as well put a spotlight on the guys fighting -- wait, I think they do! :D

My Dad however used to love Fergie, for him the game was all about guys like him and Eddie Shack. Those were different times.

whats up with everybosy seeing ivanans as a real hockey player??

face it: HE SUCKS !! the guy is 27 and he only played 5 games in the NHL in his career...five games.

I'm pretty sure he can fight with thebest of them but he can't skate so he can't catch the guys he wants to fight.

I'd rather have spuds and komisarek do the fighting...not Ivanans :puke:

Sufficet to say, we have little to worry in the pipes since the days of Racciot (oh Red-Light, where are you now...)

I still remember his first game. It was against the leafs. He gave up 3 goals on the first 6 shots before they pulled him and put Roy in. We lost 6-3 and Ed Olczyk scored a hat-trick. The horror.....the horror......
