Normal people who don't have an accent, talk clear and intelligent and call the state I live in Miss-or-eee Then theres the country folk who talk with thick heavy southern accents and call my state Mizz-errr-ahhh. Hence the two missouri's. Rural and city. The rural folk also call Illinois, Illino-is. pronouncing the 's' when they shouldn't. Then there is ethnic speaking which has its own pronounciations in and of itself. They'll say the state capital like Jeffson Cit-eh instead of Jefferson City or Springfield Springfeld local town here is called Fen-ton. They'll say Fen-a Sent Louis instead of Saint Louis Cape Gerardo instead Cape Girardeau Mont-ril, MO instead Montreal Ren-alt, IL instead of Renault, IL Tornto, MO instead of Toronto, Mo Warshington Anold instead of Arnold could go on all day about this. funny stuff.
