The Chicoutimi Cucumber
I read a piece in an early October edition of the Vancouver Province in which Bulis slagged the hell out of Gainey for not playing him and/or giving him top-six status in Montreal. Three games in, the fans are already getting on Bulis's ass for not producing offensively. I had to laugh listening to a commentator saying that 'he hasn't scored, but he's shown some dash. It's too bad he missed a three on two scoring chance [in a tight games vs. the Wild], though.' In other words, Bulis remains the same fast-player-who-misses-more-scoring-opportunities that he was with us. Hee hee. In Bob We Trust. cfposi
I'm glad we got rid of him. There is no doubt he has talent, but it was obvious he didnt want to be in Montreal. If a player doesn't want to be there, he won't play well. I think we got a better upgrade with Johnson, more reliable and bigger.

Cataclaw
Bulis was one of the few Habs i never truly liked. I'm glad he's gone. I'll still remember that 4-goal game against Philly last year though.. that was fun.
kaos
Thank god he's gone. Its nice to see him missing those glorious scoring opportunities on somebody else's team. The guy continues to prove he has cement hands.
simonus
bulis was a hard worker and very responsible. He played his role, even when he didn't like it. He was frustrating because albeit his abilities, he seemed to have no creativity or sniper's shot. We are a better team without Bulis and he was never my favourite, but I will always sorta miss the guy.
brobin
Bulis would have been fine on the Habs and on the team if he was willing to play the 3rd line, defensive winger role. He did great in that role and there was no real issue regarding his scoring because it was all a bonus. However, last year, he potted a few and suddenly he was not satisfied in his role and felt he should be a top line winger, a scoring winger. Delusional in my opinion, but as a people manager I can tell you that very few people are good at self-judgement. In any case, once this happened, he had to go. I feel sorry for him in a way. It won't be long before the Canucks take him aside and say "we need you to be our 3rd line defensive winger and PK specialist, don't worry about scoring". Will be interesting to see if he gets the message, or rebels on them.

Fortunately for the HAbs the team was able to upgrade the forward position this year.
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
He's a decent hockey player. But he's exactly the kind of player that BAD teams always hope they can count on to become a real offensive threat: flashy skills, but absolutely no finish. When the Habs dumped him and vancouver picked him up to play on their second line, I realized two things: one, that the Habs are now a good team; and two, that Vancouver is in deep doo-doo. dumpSamsonov
he was about as much use a chocolate teapot. Hmmm... 20 goal scorer who is defensively responsible, a good penalty killer and has speed to burn is useless? Hopefully you aren't applying for the Gm position any time soon I will say that he was frustrating to watch because he missed so many opportunities but you have to remember he created those opportunities with his speed and hard work. If he had stayed in his role as a third line winger and stopped being a diva and tried to be something he was not, then I would dearly like to have him on this team. As it was he had to go but to call him useless is exaggerating just a tad

Gotta laugh at hockey fans...you know you'll be saying the same thing about Kovalev and Samsonov a few years from now. Seems like most players end up being hated for some reason or other. Guess it's the old saying 'familiarity breeds contempt'. I can remember when Zednik and Bulis where acquired for Linden and Zubrus and it was a love fest for the longest time but it always leads to the same thing, for some fans anyway. It's an interesting comment on our society how this always happen. I'd like to know the psychology behind it. I fail to see why anyone would hate either of these hockey players but to each his own. JMMR
I love it a stone hand hahahah! As for hating Bulis I actually enjoyed him in Montreal for a while but I am happy he is gone and will not miss him too much because the Canadiens are a better team And I loved Zednik he was amazing and scored some amazing playoff and clutch points for the Habs! It's an interesting comment on our society how this always happen. I'd like to know the psychology behind it. I fail to see why anyone would hate either of these hockey players but to each his own. From a hockey fan standpoint, we love the game,...and the better this game is played by our favorite team the more we are.....happy. It's plain thrilling to witness great hockey when it occurs and it is twice as much of a thrill if this excellence is displayed by our favorite team. Our involvement with the plaisure of watching hockey is dependant on how successfully our team keeps improving from one year to the next. Improving the team is always Gainey's no: 1 concern,...as he said it himself,.. while the art of coaching is to maximise the effectivity of the various talents at hands and to create a cohesion among the players..... in the end...... from the fans to the DG to the coach and to the players, everyone is involved, one way or the other with the pursuit of excellence. This pursuit is addictive and is a passionate affair and as such when any minor or more important setbacks occur it is not un-commun for some people to vent their frustrations by bashing at players that have finally left the team or even worse at players that are still being part of the team. Indulging in negativity and paronoia is a commun discourse in the world of sport, some people can get so full of themselves when the sport they like makes them miserable,....who needs it,...I am glad Habsworld as remain convivial in spirit over the years.......in that respect I thought that the dunpsamsonov's thread following the very first game of the season was not only a silly post in content but one that was most at odd with this moment of renewal with our team......anyway as you said..to each is own. The Chicoutimi Cucumber
The Bulis watch continues! He's now officially been relegated to...wait for it...the THIRD LINE on the Canucks. Some legendary sniper named 'Trevor (?) Pyatt has taken his place. Gee, I'm beginning to think he's NOT the 40-goal scorer he thought he was

CoRvInA
Its just that... we've reached a level where guys like Bulis and Zednek are no longer needed... Players of their calibre you get from within from your draft and farm team.... we're beyond that... now those teams that do want them are trying to reach the level we had last year... Hence Washington and Vancouver .. assuming the Knuckles were gonna give Bulis a shot and in case he doesnt well he'll play a good Defensive 3rd line... Presently were messing with trying to get a no nensense First line! thats where we stand now if Sammy and the nExt big Centre, comes from within or wether we have to trade for or whatever i.e Lats Grabovsky Kost... then we will be saying... Bonk! well he was good so was Johnson but Now we have home grown potential with Plek and Chips and GRabovsky ...so we need to let you guys go... In all truth if Bob's plan holds true by the end of the season the Koivu line should be our Second line or 1b like we said before (playing at this same rate or better) and the Kovalev Top LeftWinger (Sammy gelling or Lats in 2 years) plus a top knotch Center feeding them... (Free agent) will be our Top 1A And then we'll be saying .. Damn remember when we had Bulis? and Zednik? Geez those were desperate times! then the Salary Cap will get us and Garage sale alla Ottawa.. ARGGGGG Nightmare btw I'm sure Muckler is getting the boot for PUSHING THE PANIC BUTTON ON Havlat ...MAN another year YEAH THE GUY WOULD BE GONE BUT the cup .. MUCKLER ITS ABOUT THE CUP Now its gone from there grasp... wasted effort... they are now trying to get Perrault to fill the void? ..lesson for Gainey and us you can be patient and work from within but dont get greedy....
