bebehabs
i'm happy for tender to get the promotion to the 2nd line... but samsonov should maybe have the chance to play more since it's against Boston... maybe we will see samsonov more on PP time... huet gotta shut it out
simonus
TSN says huet, but I thought the Gazette said Aebischer...

JMMR
Latendresse did not deserve the promotion over Perezhogin but whatever I doubt those lines lastn all game let alone the first period.
johnnyhasbeen
Latendresse did not deserve the promotion over Perezhogin but whatever I doubt those lines lastn all game let alone the first period. Perezhogan doesn't add size to the 2nd line, or grit. Lats does. We need this line to hold the puck in the offensive zone more.

Cataclaw
Samsonov will be on fire tonight, he's pissed and rightfully so. Samsonov and Kovalev are perhaps not the best duo, but sending him to the fourth line is harsh. Edited October 25, 2006 by Cataclaw
cfposi
Good lord...I understand the need to try out Lats on a more offensive line, but moving Sammy down is just plain ridiculous. He is right to be pissed, he knows he can do better, just needs a better combo. Pleks should be the one moved down, since he is supposed to be the playmaker and isnt doing much (for now). Why not try Lats - Kovy - Sammy on line 2 and begin - pleks - murray on line 4. Am I the only one who sees this as the logical move....not moving your marquee 3+ million player tot he 4th line...especially when he really doesn't deserve it! Agree 100%, in principle, but in practice.. we shall see, who knows maybe the 4th line will become dynamite and will see its fair share of play now, and maybe Lats will break out, etc. If this "test" doesn't work after 3-4 games, return Samsonov to the 2nd line. cfposi
oh, In my opinion i dont think thats a good idea Agreed, play Abby, the win (in principle) will give him further confidence and will hopefully develop his hot hand, which the habs can ride for some time GHG :hlogo:
JMMR
Perezhogan doesn't add size to the 2nd line, or grit. Lats does. We need this line to hold the puck in the offensive zone more. Perezhogin is now 212 lbs. and hits all night long. That is one of the reasons the thrid line has been doing so well. So yeah Perezhogin add's size and grit. But if Carbonneau does not want to break up the 1st and 3rd I can understand.
smon
That's probably the case. I'm rooting for Huet Thursday and hopefully Samsonov will wreak some havoc on Jacobs' bunch of Bruins
Peter Puck
According to TSN these will be the lines & pairings: Higgins - Koivu - Ryder Latendresse - Plekanec - Kovalev Johnson - Bonk - Perezhogin Samsonov - Begin - Murray Rivet - Souray Markov - Niinimaa Komisarek - Streit Huet Everyone is understandably fascinated by the Samsonov/Latendresse story but I think the change in the D pairing is also very interesting. I think this is so Markov can back up Niinimaa who has made a few costly mistakes this year.
