I was at the game very exciting especially the saves by Komisarek and Huet! Also the goal by Bonk the crowd held thier breath until the refaree finally pointed into the net, most of us believed he blew the whistle.

My record this season continues to look good as the Canadiens are 6-0-3 in games I have attended.

Cmon you honestly think that with you being in attendance the habs are legitimate? 6-0-3..lol

Theres no such thing as a "good luck charm" for the Canadiens..its either they show up for they dont...

they just played good tonight.....and Francis Boullion made a very impressive return!!

I really like Koivu and Kovalev together on the 5 on 3...i think they should stick together as a line with latendresse when higgins comes back!! I even think Kovy Koivu and Samsonov should be the #1 PP unit with souray and markov on the point.... It might be a gamble but im willing to take it!!! Go :hlogo: GO!!

You know that now your job is to go and see all games with the habs this season right? even the road games. :D

You get to go and see all of these games? Wow! That's a lot of coin!

For us, one trip a year from Sudbury and we're glad. Each trip costs us over $200 each - ticket, hotel, transpo, food, etc.

I guess you probably count the games Montreal plays at Ottawa too. We plan to be at the January 13 game in Ottawa.

My son's buying the tickets. Eight of us will be going there together. Should be a riot.

GO :hlogo: GO!

Okay seriously, you are one of the most IRRITATING people I have ever met. If he thinks attending games helps the Habs play better, then who cares? Whether you like it or not, sports and superstition will always go hand in hand, so please, just give it a rest.

Your posting on a habs world board with a DP of a NYI jersey...who are you to talk? Talk about irritating....

So your not even a Habs fan? Shouldnt you be posting in the General Talk if you the "islanders GM"?

Errr, what?

I am a Habs fan, which should be more than apparent if you read through even just parts of this thread, but I control the Islanders in an online hockey sim on this site.

Why do i get the feeling justinb is 12? Just a feeling.. between this and the rant against Koivu in the future captain thread.. *shrug* kids..

But anyway great game, a valuable 2 pts, and Huet is now #1 in save percentage! How about that!

Always a great game when the Habs win. Huet is on fire! Like the Ryder/Koivu/Kovalev combo. If anyone has feedback on Bullion's play I'd like to read it.

Advice: Read. Think. (perhaps re-read if things aren't clear/ and of course, think again.) Then reply. You may have to ask questions to clarify any uncertainties you may have, but first, check out the the search button and attempt to research information yourself.

The way you are posting looks like you are being a knee-jerk reactionary. 2 minutes of using the search button would answer:

1) What HWL is

2) whether or not Dark_farie is a Habs fan or not.

BTW: To all who want Rivet gone, you do realize he probably/maybe saved the game eh?

In the 1st a shot flipped over Huet's shoulder and was going into the net until an alert Rivet batted it away from behind Huet

I don't WANT Rivet gone, I just would rather keep Markov and Souray than Rivet and Souray next year. Rivet's a hard worker, and I like him, but he doesn't compare in talent to some of the others, so I don't like him enough to lose some of our others to keep him. That said, good on him to make that save. Komi had some nice saves last night too is what I'm hearing.

Komi did intercept a shot too. I like Rivet due to sheer grit. Every team needs a Rivet and most have one or a similar type of D.

Well AC, sorry to tell you but 1 good play by Rivet a night doesn't make up for his lack of foot speed, inability to win a 1 on 1 battles and his mistakes every night.

As for the other post, Markov should be the only UFA resigned, he is the only complete player out of the UFA defenseman. No WAY do you pay 4-5 mill fpr a PP specialist. With Souray's outstanding PP shot, can anyone tell me what else he does? 2 points and minus 4 when his team is even. Not worth 5 mill.

Much better off making a trade to get some younger, puck moving 2 way D.

As for last nights game there was alot of good and some bad. The Habs were lucky to get a win a thought. Only Huet and Komi (nice stop) kept this from a blow out. Great first period then stopped playing until Bonk scored. Almost 40 shots given up and the Wilds 2 best players didn't even play.

Good news:

2 points

Great first period.

the 2nd line had a few good opportunities

fought back in the third

Pk looked pretty good, Markov's flamingo cost them on the 2nd goal

Third line outstanding again

Huet outstanding

5 on 5 scoring, Wow 2 goals in 1 game

Bad news:

Can't put 60 minutes together, i hope for just 40.

The passing and Defensive end turnovers is killing them. Thankfully Huet was incredible again

Stupid penalties, not alot last night but no reason for a couple of them.

Way too passive in the nuetral and defensive zone, i'm asuming that is a system.

What to do with the 4th line. If pleks stays on the 2nd, the Habs definatley need a center man for that line, i don't like 7 D man dressed. Maybe a small trade or 2 to clear up some roster spots and bring Lapiere up.

Begin is much more effective on the LW.

I hope they show up for 60 against Buffalo or they'll put a 7 spot on them too.

We can't only resign Markov because we have NO depth at D on the farm, so pick your poison, it's either Rivet for cheaper, or what you consider an over-rated Souray (which I disagree with) for more. If we trade for someone, we're still going to have to pay that guy. We have no ready D in the system.

About the stupid penalties, can't blame the players for how ridiculous the refs were being last night... Oops, I better stop before the NHL fines me for critisizing the reffing.

and about Begin, I totally agree. I say if Plex is staying on the 2nd, we should call up Lapierre, just like you suggested, for 4th line duty. He's perfectly suited for that role, and he deserves a chance with the big club. I think Carbo's just been bringing in the newly-healthy D on the fourth line to ease them in. I don't think he's planning on dressing 7 D on a regular basis.... imo

Colin White, Tverdovsky, Derek Morris, Skoula and a host of others have Rivet type +/- numbers and points. Are all of these people making mistakes? Should their teams dump them?

Remember '93? We had Sean Hill. I compare Rivet to a Hill type of player. Every team needs the Rivet's and Hill's of the universe.

Anyway, don't worry about it too much. I'm getting accustomed to your "glass half empty" outlook. Besides your favs; Begin and Komi, who else sucks?

I don't hate anyone on the Habs. I like players who give effort every night. They get paid enough to atleast show up and play hard. My glass isn't half empty, i am a realist. The reality is Souray and Rivet are not that good. Sure they have there good points. I am meerly pointing out that they have been here for years and haven't improved. Souray when shooting the puck is awesome. When he doesn't he is a liabilty on the ice. I'm not sure what Rivet brings to the ice, nothing that Dandy, Bouillon, Markov Komi don't.

I have also been topugh on the second line, they haven't done anything all year either.

My main points are for the Habs to improve and be a serious contender, they need to upgrade the D, especially the skating ability and get a second line center. The Habs currently don't have one, Pleks played much better last nifght but only time will tell on that.

I wouldn't want him to go.. he like Saku the heart and soul of this team, and he would do anything for this team to win, he prove it us during the years... and btw their the remaining 2 habs survivors from the 90's Habs team I believe XD just can't let both of them go... we need to build up around these habs veteran players!
