huh? Columbus? He's from the GTA? I'm confused?

He said he was moving to the US. I mentioned Columbus because he's moving somewhat close to Columbus, but far enough away that because of his work he won't be able to make it to the game when the Habs visit Columbus.

Ugh, that picture again on another server. I have to put that pic on my FireFox Image Blocker again, hehe.

where are you moving to revvrob?

i'm in Oshawa (just east of Toronto) but am moving in January to Youngstown, Ohio (i heard George W. needed a couple of Republican voters there - hehe)

Far enough away from Columbus that his preaching duties will prevent him from seeing the Habs when they come to Columbus in February. :(

unfortunately, that Habs-Jackets game is on a Sunday :(

but - i am only about 1 hour from Pittsburgh, so - i may get a healthy dose of Sid the Kid & Jordan Staal ^_^

Yeah I was going to say your closer to Pittsburgh then Columbus. But then again how long are the Pens going to stay in Pittsburgh.

Don't like Ohio. Family stench is around there (they all fled out of Ohio except for one uncle who I haven't seen in years)

Take it from someone who lives in Ohio: it's not a bad place.

I'm not dissing Ohio even though I am. Its just Akron and Cleveland. Do not like Akron or Cleveland thats where my family is from. Can't stand the place. My dad hates going back to his old childhood home he goes nuts.

Just bad memories there my family is distant anyway so I don't know why I should really hate Ohio. But when I think of Ohio I think of my super conservative bankrupt uncle whose on welfare but hates democrats (we are a labour supporting family hence my socialist streak, we immigrants) we always tell him what has his precious republicans done for him? He gets angry. He's also a big baby. He's 55 years old and asks for money all the time. Weak leak in the chain so to speak. Used car salesman, gambles.

Haha, I figured you'd like Cleveland, the northern half of the state is the primarily liberal part of the state.

But yeah, don't judge Ohio on Cleveland, it is a hole. They set a river on fire for goodness sakes! Cleveland is the mistake by the lake.

its a long story. Why do you think I want to move out of Missouri and then the US? Moving away from home is something my family does.

Germany to Hungary to Ohio back to Hungary back to Ohio then the sons went to

Toledo- Fort Wayne - Kansas City (uncle)

Akron- Northern Indiana- Milwaukee- Saint Louis (me)

Ohio (uncle)

Ohio-Hungary-Ohio-Florida (grandma)

Ohio-Houston TX (cousin)

We don't like home. My dad hasn't been back to Akron in years hasn't seen his brother in years. My uncle doesn't go to Akron that often either.

And my grandma hasn't been to Ohio or out of Florida for that matter in 4 years.

lol family is from Akron but yeah Cleveland eck!

Great Uncle worked at Goodyear

Grandpa worked at another factory

Great Uncle worked at Firestone

Akron just feels weird.

I met a few jackasses from Vancouver.

Vancouver sucks.

i hear there is a problem with all the trees in Seattle - that it has been noticed they all lean towards the north. why? cuz Vancouver sucks so much. :P

haha funny. There's actually a mini rivalry between the two I think.

First Vancouver built there cool library so Seattle had to build this ultra futuristic looking tool box for a library.

Vancouver actually has a public transportation system. Seattle is building one.

Both want to see how many starbucks they can put on one street.

Both have traffic problems

off-topic - to PTG ...

i thought Pierre Trudeau was great when he was Prime Minister and I was a kid - but - then i started leaning to the right as far as national governance goes, so - i started liking Mulroney et al. that being said, the idea of Pierre on the $20 bill is a great one, IMO. regardless of whether a Canadian loved him or hated him, Pierre is a national icon and well deserving of the honor of being on our most popular dollar bill.

My youngest and his girlfriends were vocally anti-american. I don't know about now... maybe he's softened his stance.

I believe that the American government and others in situations of responsibility have done good things and bad things... it's our nature. The only thing about them is that they're so powerful that whatever good they do and whatever bad they do can end up being on a greater scale than most other nations in the world.

Nevertheless, I'm glad that Canada has, as a neighbour, the United States. That nation is one who doesn't have any intentions on us or display any nasty behaviour or attitudes towards us. I'm glad that my country's neighbours aren't Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, pre-war Iraq, Columbia and many other less than friendly nations in the world.

Hmm you have oil

We want oil and

we don't care about your interests

We think we own the artic

We think your full of terrorists.

majority of americans think the 9/11 hijackers came through Canada

Border ID's

Softwood

We think your problems with us are trivial. They never get any attention while if the UK has beef with us its shown on TV.

You consider us your best ally, but we think your third or even 4th or 5th on the buddy list.

Lets look at history:

You come to our aid for everything. You were first in the Gulf in Katrina

We don't repay the favour

We robbed your country with NAFTA

Yeah Nixon called Trudeau an a**hole.

And I know a lot of you think this won't happen but if the NDP or Greens ever form a government you'll here 'canada's full of communists' comments from the south.

If I seem to remember reading somewhere some young man named Trudeau was on a banned list to come to America because he studied something on Marxism.

America takes you for granted

thinks you're silly

like a cheap hooker. but then again the US treats all of its allies like this anyway. If you actually have a somebody who stands up to them they'll get angry and through a hissy fit. (see france, germany)

Washington has this god complex which thinks everything they do everyone must follow. I've never gotten that. Mainly I think they're bored and looking for an enemy to go against because they don't have a rival anymore. So they become the school yard bully.

I know that this isn't the answer but have you thought of leaving the US and going somewhere else in the world? You wouldn't have to live in 'Misery'. (I don't say this nastily or sarcastically, by the way).

Well if you've read any of my thoughts I'm going to move to Vancouver after school. Plan on studying abroad in Norway and study government there. Back pack through Eastern Europe and Germany finding my relatives.

Was going to go on a build for Habitat for Humanity to either South America or Africa but I don't have the time at this moment.

I'm a worldly person to begin with I've never meshed well with the consensus of thought around here. There's a bigger problems out in the world.

Thanks I'm a social activist at heart. It wouldn't shock me if I was working in third world countries in the future. Its something that just comes natural to me something I don't feel like I'm doing to it for personal gratification I do it because I believe its right.

this christmas I'm handing out christmas trees to deaf and blind kids. They need a lot of people and I said why not? I wanted to work at a soup kitchen but when I sent in a email saying I was interested they instead thought I wanted to give money.

I know how you feel... I tried contributing to a local political candidate and what I intended to do was help in a 'concrete' manner but they wanted $$$$$. I don't do that.
