DON
Does Therrien deserve more credit than he is getting, for the success of team in his 2nd term?

DON
Sorry... was thinking, is he, has he been a legit Jack Adams candidate?
KoRP
Sorry... was thinking, is he, has he been a legit Jack Adams candidate? If he is not/hasn't been, there is something wrong with the selection committee... I like him this time around just fine, and I for one think he has done a masterful job in terms of winning percentage, and developing young players, especially Subban. Machine of Loving Grace
Sorry... was thinking, is he, has he been a legit Jack Adams candidate? The only reason he's not a legit Jack Adams candidate is because the Jack Adams rarely goes to the best coach anymore. It goes to the coach who turned a bad team around. The Chicoutimi Cucumber
No one had more contempt for Therrien than me, and I was appalled when he was re-hired. The fact is, he has done a very good job. Young players have progressed. The team has had results commensurate with its talent. The Habs are a hard-working team that competes every night and has great chemistry. Of course he is not perfect and we can b**ch about this or that micro-decision he makes...but that's not the way to evaluate a person's overall performance. I'm comfortable saying that he has done as good a job as anyone else would have done, excepting perhaps the 'superstar' coaches like Babcock and Quenneville, who were not candidates to coach here anyway. Also, Babcock has not once won the Jack Adams, and Quenneville has not won the Jack Adams in Chicago. The Jack Adams is dumb.
DON
Dumb? What do you mean? Who gets to vote for it you mean? (which I don't know)
habs rule
I think that MB and Le Genius work well together. I don't think they have issues with each other like happens in some organizations. This is very good. MB gives him a lot of rope but seems to know when to slow that down. I have been impressed with Le Genius' calm demeanor. He seems to want to discuss more with the players which is great. I think the leadership squad also support him and that is a big hurdle. In the past I don't think he always got the support from his players but then again he was throwing them under the bus all the time. So I agree he has improved as a coach. It is really good to see, I honestly never thought he would coach in the NHL again after Pits fiasco. I tip my hat to him. He will always be Le Genius to me.
