DON
How would you guess William Nylander does in his 1st AHL game? Brown is 2nd in rookie scoring behind Hudon eh.
DON
Tinordi has flu. Hudon draws a PP (on good pass from de la Rose) 29th ranked PP, 12.3%
dlbalr
How would you guess William Nylander does in his 1st AHL game? Brown is 2nd in rookie scoring behind Hudon eh. Brown has really surprised me. I thought his success was a by-product of being on a loaded Erie team last year but he's showing that he could be a quality prospect. As for Nylander, I think he'll have a quiet first game. It's a new team, new league, pretty much new everything. He'll need a bit of time to adjust I'd think. Funny that Fournier's scratched for Gill. One's a prospect, one's a guy bouncing around on PTO's. Heck, given the rivalry between the teams, this might be a good game for Fournier. Edit: What in the world is Gill doing on the 3rd line??

dlbalr
Bowman in also for I guess Nevins? Nevins will be out for a while (I should have caught that when doing the lines...). Good that Bowman's feeling better though.
dlbalr
With both teams sending quality scorers back for this one, it only seems fitting that it's scoreless after 2.

dlbalr
Pateryn left the game after getting cut with a high stick. Hopefully it's not too serious.
DON
He is back on bench at least. Empty net with 3 minutes left. Praise for Condon shutting down TO with numerous good saves. 3-0 now! 2 goals in 2 of last 3 games for Dumont.
dlbalr
Good to see Dumont finally produce, even nicer to see Condon continuing to show that he's the real starter for this team (despite splitting time in the first half). That's a big win, now to get the back half tomorrow. http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1014074
miklin
weak officiating from Hamilton native Darcey Burchell again. Let numerous flagrant attacks by MacWilliams on Dumont slide. Called a phantom on Pateryn for hooking-seemed to be a makeup call. Failed to make a call when Pateryn was boarded and cut. Burchell is too slow for one man games. Honestly hate the big crowds as it brings out Leaf fans, not Marlie fans, who have trouble identifying two Marlie players. I realize bringing out the pseudo Marlie fans brings in needed revenue but it really prostitutes the home product. Groups showed the usual lack of behaviour-there to be seen-there to consume as many $9.75 beers as possible-no waiting for whistles. Honestly, the Wed night games with 3000 fans are more fun if you're a Dogs fan. To add insult to injury, they've already announced season ticket renewals are underway. It looks like $76.00 more next year for two less games. Maybe they should wait a while to see what kind of product they have to sell by April. dlbalr
Condon starts again this afternoon. Tinordi's still out, while Sorkin is a healthy scratch (Fournier replaces him).
DON
.931 save% for Condon (not bad for a rookie eh), Tokarski ended up with .919% last year. I think being 6'2" will help him as Tokarski seems smallish for a NHL tender, especially compared to Price.

I think being 6'2" will help him as Tokarski seems smallish for a NHL tender, especially compared to Price. The organization was bullish on Condon before the season even began. If he has a second half like his first half, they may seriously consider Condon as the #2 behind Price next year.

DON
dlbalr, 'bullish' is a term I not familiar with, but assume you mean high hopes? and he did kick ass in ECHL playoffs didn't he, even though those #s were touch lower than reg season? They think he has some real upside and listed him as the #3 goalie in the organization at the beginning of the season (from one of Elliotte Friedman's 30 Thoughts pieces) despite just giving MacDonald a big money contract (the richest two-way deal in franchise history). As for the ECHL playoffs, he did have a good run there although he did taper off at the end. This is his second really strong season in a row (and even coming out of college, he had a decent run on PTO's before the Habs signed him). I thought he'd be good this year and be the starter by the end but he has still passed my expectations.
