IN THE HEARTS OF MEN
That's an interesting suggestion. It might help. It also might lead to league-leading shorthanded goals allowed. why?? markov was at his nhl PP best when quarterbacking in a stationary roll on the left feeding a lefty on the right.... then have a righty feed PK finding seams for the one timer the opposite way....... very interesting D lines at practice with marky joining PK and beaulieau with gilbert and defensive tandem of tinordi and weaver.... put some pressure on emelin to really step up his game with some inner competition

DON
And Gallagher had zero points in pre-season, what does it mean, not alot.
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Preseason is meaningless for veterans. Just a way to slowly get their timing up to snuff. One consequence of internet/media saturation, I notice, is that WAY too much is made of preseason in general. Except as a mechanism for seeing which rookies might have a shot at the actual lineup, it's largely a waste of time from a fan point of view. DON
Just will be nice to see the 2 rookie d-men getting a regular shift, instead of Bouillon, Murray, Diaz.

Guest Stogey24
And Gallagher had zero points in pre-season, what does it mean, not alot. Gallagher wasn't constantly turning the puck over, Emelin had some terrible ones right up the middle in his own end. You still have to have common sense in pre season
Machine of Loving Grace
Gallagher wasn't constantly turning the puck over, Emelin had some terrible ones right up the middle in his own end. You still have to have common sense in pre season Emelin looked great until he hurt Eller. Then he seemed to dial it back. Probably because people expect guys like him to go full throttle in pre-season/scrimmage and when it ends up hurting a teammate? You have to deliberately dial it back. It's harder to be psychologically into the game when that happens.
DON
Pre-season is basically practice for signed roster players who are just going through the motions and nothing to prove. But agree that Emelin will never be a smooth puck moving d-man like his countryman; but Markov will never hit anyone 1/2 as hard as Emelin does. The Chicoutimi Cucumber
It makes no more sense to attack Emelin for not being a super-smooth puck-mover than it does to attack Beaulieu for not hitting like a tank. And it makes LESS than no sense to attack any veteran for poor pre-season performance. Boy, we must have a pretty good team if this is what fan grumbling has been reduced to
ICEWATER77
this team is the best group we've had in 25 years..we shouldn't bicker over anyone really. I for one can't wait to get going tomorrow!

KoRP
This very well may be the best roster in 25 years, with the maturation of our young stars, and the leadership contingent made up of them, Markov and Plek. I am pretty pumped for tonight, and the season with a lot to look forward to for Habs fans.
