Sens have a depleted roster. Hope we don't think we can coast to a win.

They've won 4 straight, hopefully that's enough of a sign to the players that they can still get the job done despite the weak roster.

Is bourque playing?

No word yet on his situation; I don't think the Habs have had their game day skate yet. We should know more then (whether he's ready to go, a game-time decision, etc).

Hope Subban has taken these last 2 games in account for his PP decision making. Two straight games he passed instead of shot and ended up with an assist on a PP goal. I don't want to see Subban stop shooting, just be more selective with his shooting. It looks like whenever he passes instead of shooting the other team has no answer for what comes next, their all committed to the shot and rebound. The less the other team expects the shot, the more dangerous it will be.

I'd be willing to accept a loss tonight if it means we can go into the ACC on wednesday and lay a beat down on the Leafs.

There are no acceptable losses. :) we are facing a weak team who's bubble is going to burst, maybe tonite. We should have plenty of motivation for that other piece of crap Ontario team. But lets not get ahead of ourselves, lets lay a good old fashioned beating on the Sens, just for old times sakes. :habslogo::gohabsgo::gohabsgo::gohabsgo:

Look at one major positive of this season so far. We are sitting in 3rd for shots against a game, and I believe in our last 5 games we've only had 1 game where there were more than 20 shots on us. Hard to score on a team that doesn't give you many chances. I think this stat is so important because we're not playing JM defense where you don't enter the other team's zone because defense, defense, defense. We're forechecking, creating rushes, and scoring chances all while holding the other team to 26 shots a game. We're also sitting near the league average of shots per game as well.

"The Habs' seven-game point streak is their longest since they went 6-0-1 from March 6-20, 2010. That season ended with the Canadiens beating the Capitals and Penguins in the Stanley Cup Playoffs before losing to the Flyers in the conference finals." - NHL.com

Add to that the fact that we have one of the best goalies in the game, and you begin to understand why we are where we are.

I was vociferous in my condemnation of the Therrien hiring, but these are the kinds of stats that make his performance up to this point impossible to gainsay. That's outstanding stuff.

Normally i'd agree with you...there are no acceptable losses, however I don't think we can consider the Hens to be weak. They're 4-0 and that's without some of their best players.

That said, i'd still take a loss tonight if it meant we could kick some leafy asses on Wednesday.

An update on Bourque, he did not even travel with the team to Ottawa. If anyone was still looking for confirmation that he's out tonight, there it is. I suppose if he's feeling better he can catch up with the squad in time for Wednesday's game.

This and the game against the leafs are big statement games.

Both are divisional rivals.

Ottawa could tie us with a win tonight.

The leafs have embarrassed this team and they need to respond with a big win.

I want two great efforts and two big wins.

Then we need to beat the bruins. If we can do that too, we have to be considered a legit contender. I am not convinced we are, but I want to be proven wrong.

Looking at some of the stats, Ottawa really picked up the physical play down the stretch. At one point the hits were (I believe) 12-5 Habs but it's now 13 apiece. Eller has been strong at the faceoff dot (5/6) while both Plekanec and Desharnais are also above 50%. That doesn't happen often.
