Guest Stogey24
So no Patrick Kane, Claude Giroux, Sidney Crosby types. But seeing as almost all are 6' or taller in top 15, odds are you will be correct. Obviously first overall selections are a different story, but your right. If the talent is gushing, pretty tough to pass up.
DON
Just picking by size really dosent seem to be a good way to draft, even though a 6'4" or 6'6" prospect gets many fans and GMs drooling, thinking of what might become of a McCarron freakishly large teenager. KoRP
Well, it's not like there has never been a good or great player over your coveted 6' line Don. Nobody suggests taking size over talent so please with your redundant argument inducing statements about bigger draft picks...

DON
Hey Bryce you got this one. "That is a clown question Bro!" But some males simply need to compensate I suppose.
DON
Anyone seen Michael McLeod play for Mississauga? Or Sergachev with Spitfires? Habs sitting with 9th/10th pick. Seen projected for 9th pick, Gauthier, McLeod, DuBois, Nylander? and couple d-men Sergachev (numerous mock drafts have him 9th), Jake Bean or Chychrun. DON
Pierre-Luc Dubois had 2g 2a today. 62gms 42g 99pts. 12pts in last 5gms. Likely will be picked right around 7-10 range the Habs will be picking in. And of course the important part...he is 6'3" 200lb+ forward. KoRP
And of course the important part...he is 6'3" 200lb+ forward. Damn, maybe Byron has a younger, smaller brother with great speed we could draft?
HabsWEST
Yup... if it's not top 3.. trade it.. Edmonton is on the verge of a firesale.. so pry Hall away NO!!, and BIG NO!, I am surprised the media hasnt gotten all over the horrible reputation Hall has in Edmonton and the community. He just treats everyone like they are a " piece of #%$%@$.." He is main problem in Edmonton, last thing Montreal needs is a party guy in Montreal, who cares less if they win or lose, and rather rush out the arena to party all night. RNH, is soft, but atleast get him away from HALL and he will be better, same with EBERLE Connor McDavid, is solid and he wont be influenced by Hall. ( of course cant get McDavid, just stating Connor is in a class of his own and mentally tough, and will be the future leader) But I hope for Edmonton PC will realize he needs to get rid of HALL for the Oilers to go anywhere, he is the rotten apple of the bunch. So please Montreal dont go near him!) Yakupov, would be interesting for a lesser pick or lesser value going other way.. BUT 100% stay away from HALL!! DON
And Dubois goes and gets suspended for very dangerous hit (shoved) from behind on d-man.
Link67
And Dubois goes and gets suspended for very dangerous hit (shoved) from behind on d-man. I'd still take him if he is available when we pick, kid keeps getting compared to Jamie Benn, and that has be salivating already
DON
Michael McLeod © of Mississauga and Mikhail Sergachyov (D) of Windsor seem popular options for 9th slot.
John B
Dubois seems like the safe pick. Seems like a well rounded player according to scouting reports.
DON
Sure, but got two questions, are his numbers inflated playing with the big Russian kid and is he quick enough (always a question with bigger prospects, especially coming from a weaker junior league). He did really stand out at top prospects game.
Lovett's Magnatones
Damn, maybe Byron has a younger, smaller brother with great speed we could draft? Somebody breaks his legs before Timmins finds out.
Commandant
Who I want - Dubois, but I doubt he's available. Who I think we take - McLeod.

Link67
I get to see Mikhail Sergachyov when I attend Spits games here, seems really legit, will be an NHLer of quality before he is 22 I believe, we just cant afford not to draft a forward of quality though, this roster needs it so bad
DON
Sorry, but think is best to consider current roster and the draft as separate things, unless drafting a NHL ready kid of course.
Link67
seems like the top 6 this year might have a real shot at being 18 year old nhlers, if we can just squeeze in there somehow
DON
Better chance to snag a Backes or trade for a forward like a Nugent-Hopkins or Eberle-type for that upgrade they need NOW. On a rebuilding team there are holes where a 18yr old may slide in; but Habs seem to be very conservative with the kids (11-27 are exceptions), so would be looking at 17-18 season for a 8th-to 10th pick this year (later if a d-man) and roster will look different then, for sure. DON
Now sitting with 8th pick, Sabres 2points behind with game in hand, 7th is possible. But still seems like same options for prospects, other than maybe the Finn d-man.
