that is a great observation on the Newhook line.
Anderson was considered by many as a glorified 3rd liner that had an outliers season before getting injured in CBJ
MB touted him a à player that helps you in the playoff and often pushed criticism on regular season dry spells he had. He was overpaid because the Habs needed that type of player during the Price-Weber window.
In the current team’s context, Anderson is useless. Playing 3rd line will not raise his trade value, unless he has an unselfish centre like Evans to do all the dirty/defensive work for him.
my hope is that the Habs get an uncontested top-6 forward that pushes Anderson out of the top-6 and out of the team on a trade
Stephens has been out on IR but seems to be pushing for a comeback
Perreault is out, Jankov was demoted to 3Riv, Gignac has been out recently, I have not checked the website, but the Habs show have a strong AHL lineup with Roy back
I agree on not giving him another contract, let's just make sure he is given all the chances to improve his trade value leading into the trade deadline next year.
Also, some moves are meant for the AHL team, not necessarily for the projected NHL roster. Tuch still needs to prove he can play at the next level, I do not think he has proven he is a legitimate NHL prospect yet.
I agree with you, the PK has not performed well for long pans this season. I doubt they "get rid" or Armia this summer. Pearson and Ylonen are not going to be re-signed IMHO; but I would not mind seeing White come pack to training camp on a PTO to be a 14th forward, in case on eof the Hab's centers gets hurt again. I doubt HughGort will consider Gignac an option to start the year in the NHL.
I doubt Luke Tuch starts in the NHL next season. He will be a winger in Laval probably replacing Cederqvist.
