TV info for watching games this year

Last year I subscribed to Bell ExpressView and purchased the RDS French package so I watched all the games. I live in Oshawa, Ontrio and this year things have changed with TSN losing out on the bid for broadcast rights. We now have Fibe TV but when I went to watch the game on RDS the other night it was blacked out in Ontario.

Does anyone know what we have to do to see all the Canadiens games this year in Ontario without buying the NHL package??

I'm not sure how this will go down this year thanks to Rogers. I've been a Expressvu & Center Ice subscriber for the past 10 years to ensure I could watch the Habs, since I live in the Windsor, ON area. Once the season starts, then I'll know for sure.

The one and only TV solution is to buy that package. Everything you need to know is in here: http://forums.habsworld.net/index.php?showtopic=24798

How do you subscribe to TVA Sports. Is it available thru FibeTV?

That I can't tell you (I don't have Bell) but I can tell you that getting TVA Sports won't get you any additional Montreal games. The 22 regular season games that they're showing are part of the 40 English national games.

in ontario it will cost you approx $60 to be able to watch the games that are currently not part of ontario's schedule. all preseason games are on RDS who lost out on national french broadcasts to TVA. therefore outside of streaming on the net for the remaining preseason games you can watch game in an hour on RDS late night. but once the season starts i would cancel RDS and get the package with TVA in it.

montreal is the only team in the nhl that fans have the ability to watch all 82 games no matter where in the country you live without purchasing centre ice!

From what I've been told, only Rogers is offering the $60 RDS package. If you're not with them, you have to go with Centre Ice.

Also, I've merged a couple of these threads together as we really only need one thread discussing the restricted viewing options for watching games this year.

TVA is part of the better package on bell SAT tv channels 101 and up and 1818 for TVAHD and 1804 for TVAHD montreal channel. these games are nationally televised in french so if you have these channels currently then the games will not be blacked out as they are in french and not english.

rogers for an extra $60 per year will subscribe you to these channels.

Pretty much all carriers, including Rogers, offer TVA Sports. You only get 22 games with them though. The Rogers deal is just for the RDS games. You must subscribe to TVA Sports independently on Rogers in order to be eligible to get the $60 package as well, $60 on Rogers doesn't get you all 82 games.

just called bell now.... as i expected if you have bell express VU then in order to get RDS last year to watch all the games that are not on in english you would of had to subscribe to the french package as you can't buy RDS solely with Bell like you can with cogeco. if so TVA sports is included in that package already for $15 a month...

in ontario's golden horseshoe those are channel 193 TVA sports 1893 TVA sports HD. that will get you access to all 82 games across all networks and channels.

$15 a month for 6 months is approx $60....

It won't. The RDS games will be blacked out in most of Ontario, including the Golden Horseshoe. You can subscribe to the channel, sure, but it's blacked out during the games. Buying that package on Bell for most of Ontario will cost $90 over 6 months and get you 22 games. The $60 RDS package (that gets all the RDS Montreal and Ottawa games) appears to be Rogers-only. If you're on Bell and live out of the designated region, Centre Ice is the only option to get all 82 on TV.

So..for Rogers customers with RDS in Toronto...we need to...

You should be able to ask for the French Centre Ice package. I'm not sure on the exact name of it but it's $60 and gives you access to the CI channels that will be showing the RDS games.

RDS is blacked out past a certain point in Ontario, it's main viewing region is Quebec and Atlantic Canada, and now they have acquired the rights to broadcast all the Habs games, that are not nationally broadcast otherwise, at least until the playoffs. So 4 bucks a month and I'm laughing.... along with my subscription to the Sportsnet channels, and basic cable.....

From the Rogers website I accessed in Toronto this evening.

9. Will I be able to watch NHL games in French?
Starting January 2015, fans in Quebec with Rogers NHL GameCentre LIVE™ and a TVA Sports subscription from a participating cable provider can watch live French broadcasts of over 100 national games featuring all the Canadian teams. This October, fans outside of Montreal and Ottawa broadcast regions can also get up to 111 games broadcast live in French, including les Canadiens (60 games) and les Sénateurs (54 games) on both Rogers NHL GameCentre LIVE™ and on TV with Centre Ice®.

Starting in October, customers can also subscribe to a French-only package that includes select out-of-market regional games for $59.99 for the 2014 - 2015 season

Took 20 years, but finally got my first ace in july.

Hey Kool Don. I got one fluke ace at 15 yrs old in Montreal at the Hampstead golf course.. after they shortened a par 4. It went between the legs of someone standing on the green. But I'm over it....... not...... I stunk on Sunday... golf was bad too...

Aw crap!

What next....... gimmie putts, mulligans and foot wedge arnt legal neither?

(I also wrote the book on how to play a Nike from the rough, when you hit a Titleist from the tee.)

Still unsure if will be able to view all Hab games from BC this year, I know dlbalr has posted a breakdown but haven't scrutinized yet.

And just hoping some combination of CentreIce/RDS/TVA will cover most?
