The preseason comes to an end tonight as the Habs travel to Ottawa for a rematch vs the Sens.

Projected Montreal Lines:

(Guesses based on the game-day roster)

Pacioretty - Plekanec - Gallagher

Eller - Galchenyuk - Kassian

Fleischmann - Desharnais - Weise

de la Rose - Mitchell - Smith-Pelly

Beaulieu - Petry

Emelin - Gilbert

Tinordi - Pateryn

Tokarski

Projected Ottawa Lines:

Hoffman - Turris - Stone

Michalek - Zibanejad - Ryan

MacArthur - Pageau - Lazar

Chiasson - Smith - Neil

Wiercioch - Karlsson
Methot - Ceci
Cowen - Borowiecki

O'Connor (he's in the net usually occupied by the starter at practice)

Puck drop is at 7 PM on RDS and TSN 5. Centre Ice is on free preview right now on several (all?) Canadian TV carriers so most should be able to watch the English broadcast at least.

Where is Semin?

Well here we are, the last practice game, the next game is for points and begins the long annual climb to the CUP. Will this be #25? Man that would make me happy. Let's not have any injuries tonight and let's give the Sens some of their own back from the last game. Like to see some goals scored tonight.

Let's go Habs, :gohabsgo:

I'm interested to see how beau lieu fairs tonight with top pairing minutes with petry. My ideal line up would have beau lieu with PK and marky with petry. But I'll expect that move to happen gradually u less Nathan and petry really hit the ground running...

Semin didn't practice yesterday; it was called a therapy day. Kassian took his place. (If you had read the pregame notes on the main site, you'd have seen that already. :) )

Do keep in mind that the combos/pairings are guesses as stated in the first post since there was no game day skate. There's no guarantee Beaulieu is with Petry.

Is Jamie Mclennan commentating?

He's the colour guy.

On the plus side, the PP has looked really good. There's lots of movement and creativity. I like what I see there.

Tokarski isn't helping his cause so far tonight, that's for sure. However, some food for thought, if Condon is deemed the #2, would they still be better off sending him down to play for the first few weeks until he's needed for a start?

The Habs did well to come back there but that last goal hurt. Nice shot and it was through a screen but it was short side and Tokarski didn't react well.

Well where does Toker go from here? Condon has outplayed him by a country mile.

Two options - he makes the team or he hits the waiver wire (I don't think anyone is trading for him). Despite his so-so outing tonight, I wouldn't be shocked if he makes the Habs, at least to start.

put him on waivers and send him down. maybe he needs a little time on the bus.

I don't think the bus will be a motivational tactic for Tokarski.

The only reason I think Tokarski could still make it to start is that I think the Habs don't want Condon having just a low-end #2 workload. He has the equivalent of one AHL season and half an ECHL year for pro experience. That's not much; there's still room for development. I wouldn't be shocked to see a rotation, especially if they keep cap space. Keep Tokarski around but sit him enough that he can take a conditioning stint; during that stint, start Condon for a game. That way, Condon gets to play with more regularity while Tokarski would still get the odd game to see if he can turn it around.

Well that is another way of doing it that might work.
