  1. If they are down by two late in the 3rd. Of course it can happen
  2. Congratulations to Logan Mailloux for being called up to the NHL.
  3. I agree on not giving him another contract, let's just make sure he is given all the chances to improve his trade value leading into the trade deadline next year.
  4. Also, some moves are meant for the AHL team, not necessarily for the projected NHL roster. Tuch still needs to prove he can play at the next level, I do not think he has proven he is a legitimate NHL prospect yet.
  5. I agree with you, the PK has not performed well for long pans this season. I doubt they "get rid" or Armia this summer. Pearson and Ylonen are not going to be re-signed IMHO; but I would not mind seeing White come pack to training camp on a PTO to be a 14th forward, in case on eof the Hab's centers gets hurt again. I doubt HughGort will consider Gignac an option to start the year in the NHL. I doubt Luke Tuch starts in the NHL next season. He will be a winger in Laval probably replacing Cederqvist.
  6. quitting the tanking habit is hard, I am using an AHL patch this season and almost has me out of the habit. gotta sink it for cellebrini!
  7. Unless Martin St-Louis changes how he constructs his defensive pairs and how he plays, I do not see things the same way I wold for other teams or Habs vintage. I think Matheson stays with Montreal for the next two seasons. I also think that Guhle will return to the left-side and anchor the 2nd pair. Savard will be here until the trade deadline, with one of Mailloux/Barron/Reinbacher taking those minutes late in the season This gives: Matheson-Savard Guhle-Barron/Mailloux/Reinbacher I have not placed yet any of the other Ds, which will be fighting for a 3rd-pairing job: Xhekaj-Struble-Harris-Kovacevic The Habs could keep the four of them in a rotation. At least until the trade deadline. Patience is on the Habs side to sort this out. If the Habs feel compelled to have an NHL-level top-4 RD, they could swing a trade for that player, especially if they plan on trading Savard at the deadline. It will be too expensive later in the season to fill two RD holes if Barron/Mailloux/Reinbacher are not NHL-ready by that time. I would rather be patient with Barron/Mailloux/Reinbacher, I would even give Barron the 4D spot on the 2nd pair from the beginning of the season and suffer through his growing pains in the NHL. He would be buying the Habs time until their defensive prospects solidify their game, to then make a decision at the end of next season.
  8. It is annoying that the Canadiens AND the Rocket are both limping along to the end of the regular season with no obvious effort - to my limited understanding - in helping either team to ice their best lineup possible. If you give Hutson a few games, why not also Mailloux? If you play young Xhekaj in a key game tonight, why not Strubble? managing both rosters this way does not seem like the most effective. At least to my Mr. Potato Head reasoning.
  9. If the Amerks don't rest anyone, and Belleville doesn't get any of the call-ups back, it may be possible.
  10. not enough offensive generated by the 1st line, although Heineman shot often, I do not remember him looking like a threat to score despite scoring one. I will need to view the replay to remember. Mailloux had a good game but he also fumbled the puck a few times. Passes were not sharp and they lacked speed when entering the offensive zone
  11. empty net with 1:35 to play 6-4 seals the season for the Rocket. very doubtful they make it now, after tonight's loss
