Ok, thats what I'll leave the GDT at right now, I need to remove the white space between the picture and the main text, but I'll look at it later. Any info viewers would like to see added to the GDT for the upcoming season?

Eller is out tonight due to his 'lack of intensity' against Toronto.

It's Game two and I'm going to fight the urge to jump to conclusions. Eller played well but Therrien clearly wants something more from him. It also puts the team on notice.

Honestly, if he wanted to send a message, it should have been to Desharnais.

Those lines confuse the crap out of me. Cole and Gionta on LW? Pacioretty on RW? Listing a grind line on the top? Someone must have been a bit confused. Hopefully that isn't Therrien.

I copied & pasted it from the Canadiens blog on NHL.com.

If Montreal is to garner success this year, there are a couple of things that have to be addressed: more balanced scoring, and a more competitive edge. With regards to the latter, I want to see fewer shifts from the fourth line than the first, but I want to notice and cheer the fourth line every time they're out there. They need to be the impact, turn-the-game-on-its-ear line. We have some real grit and a semblance of real balance in our forwards, we just need to see them know their roles and shut their mouths.

This tends to confirm something I said in another thread about Eller. It sounds like he is going to have to decide whether he wants to be a passenger or a bona fide player. Could go either way, but he'd better realize that new coaches in shortened seasons are not likely to give too many second chances. I dearly hope he takes it to heart and doesn't go the Bulis route of bitching to his agent and looking for an exit. As for benching Desharnais, there's a difference between a player who has never done squat and whose intensity has been questioned before, and a guy with the exact opposite profile. The proven guy gets more chances. That's the way it is on ANY NHL team...and it's probably the way it should be.

Florida - historically a snooze-worthy opponent and therefore a frustrating one, but Kovy adds some spice to the broth!

I'm curious to see Galchenyuk at his natural position tonight, playing along with Gallagher and Prust. I will admit, seeing #8 out there on Saturday, I kept wondering why Komi was jumping up in the play.

If 72-51-67 can get going a little tonight...AND 17-14-21, boy, it'd be nice to see. I think the potential is there for the Habs to have a good 1-2 punch for the season. No, it's not Malkin and Crosby as your top 2 pivots, but still, that's good talent on the top two. I might be crazy for not being underwhelmed by Bourque.

Granted, I'm sure that the bottom two lines will be juggled during the game, but kind of expect the top 2 to stay intact. For a period, at least.

LOL Have you seen Gallagher in the pre-game interviews? He's positively giddy with excitement, can't take the smile off his face. He also mentioned that he and Galchenyuk call Prust "The Babysitter." That's really awesome!

Was iit really Eller, or did they want to get Galy and Galy together and someone had to sit.Kovy is back tonight.

I watched some, but not all of Saturdays game - I don't think Eller earned a benching, I just don't think he did enough to force Therrien to keep him in the lineup when Therrien wanted to get Gallagher & Galchenyuk in the lineup together. I really really like Eller and hope it's just a one game sit down as Therrien messes with lines over the next couple of weeks until he likes what he sees. personally, I think the lack of an exhibition season and a new coach will cause us to see a lot of lineup juggling and curious benchings until things settle down in early February.
