Hoping for a Habs loss and an Arizona win. Then we drop to the 7th overall pick!

Looks like the best case scenario is 6th overall (7.5% chance at #1), worst case is 9th overall (5%)...

I think the Habs are going to play hard in front of the rookie tonight. I can see the Habs pulling out a victory to help the youngster get his first NHL win.

Regardless of the outcome, I'm hoping that Lindgren plays well (and that the defence doesn't hang him out to dry).

Mike Brown is in for Scott tonight and not Stefan Matteau which is a bit surprising. Oh well.

I just sat down for Deitz goals. How did lindgren do?

He looked shaky early on. He didn't want to leave his crease on any dump in and it actually played a bit of a role in Carolina's goal. If he had stopped it behind the net, I think the Habs clear that out with little difficulty.

As it turns out, Lindgren got two 'Welcome to the NHL' moments. He got to do the solo skate while his first shot on goal he faced was a wide open one in the slot (Hanley's coverage was poor there). He wasn't really tested a whole lot to be honest.

Nice shot by Dietz. It seems like so long ago but he's only three years removed from being a 24 goal scorer in the WHL.

To celebrate or not to celebrate, that is the question.

I can't be upset at the Habs for scoring a goal or playing well. I get the tank mentality and all that - I just can't be upset when they score. I'm particularly happy for Carr who doesn't seem to be missing a beat. It's even more impressive when you consider he originally wasn't supposed to be back until the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Yes I kid anyway haha, the thing is I love seein Pacioretty reach 60, and the boys pot a few. Just sucks that it's too little too late.

Is it true Max stayed on for three minutes at the end trying to get an ENG? My father was texting me about it.

No. It was a longer than normal shift though, maybe 1:15, but if anything they were out there to get an empty netter for Chuck.

I have a hard time being disappointed when the boys win. It just sticks in my craw. But sometimes you wish they would take the "smart" way.

Players won't intentionally lose, I just kinda wish they did lose, even if not intentional.

Two more goals and Pacioretty hits 30, same with Galchenyuk.

I'm fine with them each having a pair and beating the Lightning, just so we at least have two 30 goal scorers in the lineup and nobody can yap stupid crap like we don't have any first liners.

(Galchenyuk is 12th among all centres in goals, Pacioretty is 10th among all LWs)

I was a bit wrong on this... NOW, with a Sens win tonight, the worst case is 9th OA. Best case is now 7th OA.

And it all comes down to one game, can we salvage the season? Probably not. sigh. :)

There was also at least one icing that trapped that line on the ice. I didn't really get the sense Pacioretty (or anyone other Emelin who made an attempt) was going for an empty netter.
