  1. Matheson with the 3a & up to 51pts, now 10th in NHL d-scoring.
  2. Beck 3a 2 shots 14/26 2nd star of game (FWIW- Parekh 3a 5shots also); Win 6-4 Guindon 1g 1 shot 14/28 No. 2 Terriers Double Up No. 17/18 RIT, 6-3, in NCAA Regionals - Boston University Athletics (goterriers.com) "The Terriers, now 27-9-2 on the year, move on to Saturday's regional final for a spot in the Frozen Four. They will face second-seeded and seventh-ranked Minnesota at 6:30 on ESPNU. Hobey Baker finalists Lane Hutson and Macklin Celebrini each tallied a goal and an assist for the Terriers,... Hutson gave the Terriers the relief they needed after the uneasy start when he took a cross-slot pass and deked a pair of Tigers, giving him a wide-open backhand chance in front of the net that he buried 11:56 into the contest." Habs Prospects KalPa Kuopio at Ilves Tampere 12:30 pm - Liiga Quarter Final (best-of-7) (KalPa leads series 3-1) Oliver Kapanen - Ottawa 67's at Brantford Bulldogs 7:00 pm - OHL First Round (best-of-7) Daniil Sobolev - Florian Xhekaj - Erie Otters at Kitchener Rangers 7:00 pm - OHL First Round (best-of-7) Filip Mešár - Michigan Technological University vs Boston College 2:00 pm - NCAA East Regional Semi Final (single-elimination game) - Providence, Rhode Island Jacob Fowler -
  3. Really? I was thinking the opposite and this is exactly what Xhekaj needs to curb, the immature post-whistle BS. Working on his decision-making and defense is likely bit more important for the Habs. 10 Thoughts: Habs Make It Three Straight Wins – HabsWorld.net 3rd Star: Jayden Struble Loved the backhand shot and i think being scratched must of been bit of wake up call. "After surviving a flurry from the Flyers, the Canadiens make the same thing happen in the offensive zone. It nearly ends with a highlight-reel goal for Jayden Struble slicing through the middle of the ice, but his backhand goes off the post. Struble then races back to break up a pass in the neutral zone. Then he goes deep into the offensive zone to relaunch the attack. He probably skated 300 metres on that shift, one of his best in the NHL." 4. Mid 2nd period - Lane Hutson 1g1a , up 3-1 Sam Harris 0pts 3 shots in Denver's 2-1 win
  5. OHL playoffs fire up today. March 28 games Owen Sound Attack at Saginaw Spirit 7:05 pm - OHL First Round (best-of-7) Cédrick Guindon - Owen Beck - https://habsprospects.com/
  6. My foggy ol 80s flyers memories; I remember watching this swing by Hextall. Buttend just missed Chelios. But this hit on Propp was a 'bit' excessive.
  7. Montreal Canadiens' win is a sign of progress — and a gift for coach St. Louis (sportsnet.ca) "...Linemate Juraj Slafkovsky assisted on the play for his 40th point of the season to make this the most productive campaign a teenager has ever had in the 115-year history of the organization. No player has benefited more from St. Louis’s coaching and influence than the 2022 first-overall pick, except for maybe Cole Caufield, who once again displayed the complete game St. Louis has worked so hard to help him establish."
  8. https://www.nhl.com/canadiens/news/catching-up-with-owen-beck The next #62? Mr. Potatohead likely already has his jersey on order.
  9. Fair match-up; but got little faith that the Habs show up to play. 10. A disappointing effort ends Laval Rocket’s winning streak (habseyesontheprize.com) "Emil Heineman received a pass along the boards, and just flippantly threw it to the centre of the defensive zone, with none of his teammates around. Ryan Schmelzer was there however, and he made no mistake as he put the Comets on top with just over four minutes left to play. The Rocket never got remotely close after the tying goal, as the nonchalance and disjointed play led to the Comets burying the empty-net goal and ending Laval’s winning streak." Rocket Weekly: Taking Care Of Business On The Road – HabsWorld.net
  11. 1st game at home after road trip, i am not putting a lot of money on the Habs to win this one.
  12. Kapanen 2a 20:55 up 3-1 in series Engstrom/Eriksson 0pts but both sweep their series
  13. Caufield backchecking hard was great to see. 21:57 for Slafkovski, all the icetime cant hurt his development and confidence. https://www.habsworld.net/2024/03/10-thoughts-strong-defensive-effort-leads-to-win-in-colorado/
  14. Top Six Minutes: Joel Armia gets winner versus Colorado again (habseyesontheprize.com) Newhook may end up being a centre? Gallagher was never quick and has lost 1/2 step but still doing good work around the net, Armia is showing off his puck skills and overpowering d-men on the forecheck, 2nd line doing fine (would be better if they were the 3rd line) and gave the Aves trouble. I think Guhle was on most (all?) of time vs Mackinnon, fun test and GUhle almost got close up view of highlight backhand goal, Mackinnon is a pretty quick and strong player. Had odd feeling when Xhekaj tossed poor Lehkonen to the ice, he was a good Hab. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/montreal-canadiens-win-is-a-sign-of-progress-and-a-gift-for-coach-st-louis/
