dlbalr
For the first time in, well, a long time, the Habs will be participating in a rookie tournament next month instead of just holding a rookie camp. They will be off to London to play against Toronto, Ottawa, and Pittsburgh in a three day tourney before heading back to Montreal for main camp. Here are the rosters: Montreal: http://canadiens.nhl.com/fr/v2/ext/2015-2016/pdf/Roster_2015_Rookie_Camp.pdf Toronto: http://mapleleafs.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=776449 Pittsburgh: http://2.cdn.nhle.com/penguins/images/upload/2015/08/2015-16-Rookie-Tournament-Rosterv2.jpg Ottawa: http://senators.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=777690 Schedule: Friday, September 11, 20154:00 p.m. Game #1 Pittsburgh (black) vs. Montreal (red)7:35 p.m. Game #2 Ottawa (white) vs. Toronto (white) Saturday, September 12, 20154:00 p.m. Game #3 Pittsburgh (black) vs. Ottawa (white)7:35 p.m. Game #4 Toronto (blue) vs. Montreal (red) Sunday, September 13, 20154:00 p.m. Game #5 Montreal (red) vs. Ottawa (white)7:35 p.m. Game #6 Toronto (white) vs. Pittsburgh (black)

dlbalr
Do you know if video of games will be available? Usually the Toronto tourney has televised games, probably Leafs TV or Rogers TV locally. There should be highlights at least.

BlueKross
I don't know if changing the rookie mode will affect, but the past would suggest that there may be a couple of Beasts' on the rookie camp roster. Brampton has signed 10 players to date according to their web site.

Brampton has signed 10 players to date according to their web site. I'm expecting one or two Brampton-bound players to be there. The top AHL'ers from last year (guys like Hudon, Carr, Andrighetto, Dietz, etc) won't be there and there are barely enough forwards/defence even with the AHL contract and ATO players. Unless there are more tryouts that we don't know about, some ECHL guys may have to fill out the roster.

dlbalr
Just why do you think those four won't be there? They are all rookies at the NHL level? Look at the rosters of the other teams. Lots of junior players and if there are AHL players on there, it's mostly first year AHL guys or players nearing bust status. And of those players, most of them aren't any good. Pouliot and Nylander stand out but the former is there because Pittsburgh is bereft of prospect D and the latter only has half a year of AHL experience. Any returning pro with any sort of chance of making the Habs will likely be held out and should be in case of injury. The roster should look something like this. I'm sure I'm missing a few names but I think this will be close to the one they name: (* - ATO from development camp who hasn't been released, ^ - AHL contract) Goalies: Alex Dubeau (Moncton, QMJHL)* Zach Fucale (Halifax, QMJHL) Mike McNiven (Peterborough, OHL)* Defence: Simon Bourque (Rimouski, QMJHL) Travis Brown (Victoria, WHL)^ Josiah Didier (Denver, NCAA/Hamilton)^ Ryan Johnston (Colgate, NCAA) Noah Juulsen (Everett, WHL) Brett Lernout (Swift Current, WHL/Hamilton) Dalton Thrower (Brampton, ECHL) That's 7 amateurs/brief pros, some teams have 8 invites. If there's an eighth, it could be one of: Mac Bennett (Hamilton) Mat Maione (Brampton, ECHL) Francis Meilleur (Lyon, Ligue Magnus, signed with Brampton) Forwards: Jeremiah Addison (Ottawa, OHL) Daniel Audette (Sherbrooke, QMJHL) Tim Bozon (Kootenay, WHL) Matt Bradley (Medicine Hat, WHL) Connor Crisp (Hamilton) Markus Eisenschmid (Medicine Hat, WHL)* Stefan Fournier (Hamilton) Jeremy Gregoire (Baie-Comeau, QMJHL) Dryden Hunt (Medicine Hat, WHL)* Mark MacMillan (North Dakota, NCAA) Brandon McNally (Dartmouth, NCAA/Hamilton)^ Mike McCarron (London, OHL) Angelo Miceli (Victoriaville, QMJHL)* Nikita Scherbak (Everett, WHL) Jamal Watson (Lethbridge, WHL)* That's 13 amateur or brief pros plus two other low-end AHL'ers. I wouldn't be shocked to see a new forward invite or two either as they may want more than 15 but none have been inked to ATO's yet.

Last years rookie camp was 43 combatants, the year before that 40-- it will take an invite frenzy to reach those numbers--Maybe the new format changes the numbers up? Last year was a camp, this will be a tournament. With camp, you need 40+ players if you want to have scrimmage situations. Here, you only need one team worth of players plus a few extras. dlbalr
Here's the official roster: http://canadiens.nhl.com/fr/v2/ext/2015-2016/pdf/Roster_2015_Rookie_Camp.pdf I was off on a few guesses - Bradley, Dubeau and Fournier aren't there, Hanley, Hudon, and Carr are (plus Bennett who I had as a maybe). I'm not sure why Bradley's missing, maybe he's hurt?

DON
McCarron & Fucale are at NHLPA rookie showcase. Barbashev & Goldobin are there also, but no Scherbak.

dlbalr
Matt Bradley played yesterday in WHL pre-season game? Wonder why not listed for rookie tournament, they were unsure if he would be available maybe? Or they weren't happy with his effort in the development camp. They did something similar with Vail a few years back, pretty much every prospect and tryout made it through rookie camp to main camp except for him who they weren't happy with. DON
Really? Development camp I didn't think would need to be a proving thing for draft picks. For try-outs yes for sure but seems so quick to 'chastise him' after just drafting him?
