BlueKross
I just think they want to show him the lay of the land, as well as evaluating his progress in the big Forum. Like Pateryn, he will undoubtabley be one of our Black Knights.
JGC21
So was Pateryn sent down? Never mind, just saw the next thread.
Lovett's Magnatones
I hope he does better than Pateryn. He was completely invisible, a gentle giant!
BlueKross
Yes Pateryn was sent down. I take his trip up as more of an evaluation. In a normal year, anybody that was close to contributing at the big level would probably already been here due to injuries once or twice. MB gets a handle on what he is got for depth, and then knows what he may need at deadline.
JGC21
So excited to see Tinordi on Saturday. I've been a big fan of him being called up this year to get a look. His size should free up space in front of Price and he should be a clog in the opposing team's cycle game around the boards; guys like Markov and Gorges are being beaten physically.
dlbalr
I tell you, from reading some of the comments elsewhere (thankfully, those here have been more realistic so far), I'd swear the Habs just called up a future Hall of Fame blueliner who is going to step in right away, play 24+ minutes per game, and physically destroy anyone wearing a different coloured jersey. He's going to see #6 minutes, quite possibly on his off-side (one of Tinordi/Bouillion will have to play on the right) as well. Tinordi hasn't been all that physical in the AHL, more of a stay-at-home guy who can help protect the crease. If he can do that for 12-15 minutes per night (what I expect he'll see in terms of ice time), I'd call that a successful stint until Diaz returns. Expectations for him really need to be kept in check. Also, if anyone's wondering why he was brought up today (and Pateryn sent down right after the game) instead of closer to Saturday, Hamilton has a pair of games in St. John's starting tomorrow so they'll be flying out sometime today. habs rule
well I am very interested in seeing if this kid can play. It sounds like he has a ton of potential. He is very big so that never hurts. Maybe our new Hal gill with more physicality?

Colin
I'm quite enjoying the fact MB is looking through the system and offering players chances. Pateryn played well and deserved his call-up. Got a taste of the show, now it's on to the next guy.
dlbalr
It looks as if Tinordi will be playing his off-side based on practice today. Oh, and for anyone wondering, he's #42.
TurdBurglar
Looking forward to seeing him tomorrow. I hope he plays more like he did in the World Juniors. He was a wrecking ball.

I doubt it. Like dlbalr mentioned, we'll probably see his conservative play from the Bulldogs this year. He's a good two years away from dominant physical play. He'll clear the crease, and focus on positioning. Plus, under Therrien, we've seen everything like that disappear, like Emelin's hip checks, Subban pinching in to a flying ass first hit along the board, to Ryan White running around like a maniac. ForumGhost
Uhh... what? I've seen like five great Emelin hip checks this season. Emelin has been a wrecking ball this season like last season. He still does have a few big hits, but I think he has focused more on his positional defensive play. He doesn't take himself nearly out of position as much to go for this big hip check as often. Habsfan
This is a great idea by Bergevin. Give Tinordi a little taste of the big leagues for a couple of games and send him back to Hamilton. Tell him to keep working hard and maybe next year he'll stay with the big club all year.

JMMR
Thought he was excellent tonight, besides his +2 rating and and assist. He looked very confident and jumped up in the play tonight many times. He was not overly physical but did clear the net on occasion.
Commandant
Great first game for him. Even better than I thought he would be.
JGC21
Maybe I'm jumping the gun, but I think Tinordi is here to stay. Kaberle is never going to see the ice again (risk of injury for the buyout) and Weber should be sent down or claimed off waivers. Once Diaz comes back, then Tinordi/Bouillon battle for the 6th d-spot.
Athlétique.Canadien
I will agree on one thing, Tinordi excelling early & if it continues over the next 3 or 4 games he is putting management into making a difficult decision. It opens up potential for us including a D in a trade. I doubt a vet is moved unless by some miracle some team takes Kabs. After all, D depth in the playoffs is the most important asset IMO. I'm sure Bergevin isn't upset by this. After all, these are the problems you want to have. Too much surplus. Good days before us all my Habs fans friends. Beaulieu isn't even here, Ellis, Thrower, Dietz etc etc Sorry Weber. If he's activated from IR before the deadline I see him being traded. Diaz surplus, Bouillon surplus. Tinordi & Pateryn experiments/try outs? I see Weber getting moved.
lazy26
Tinordi did well, but it may be a bit optimistic to think he can maintain this level. If he does, or even improves as he grows comfortable, obviously the 6th spot is his. Let's see how the next few games shake out.

Once Diaz comes back, then Tinordi/Bouillon battle for the 6th d-spot. Unless the Habs desperately need the roster spot, there's little need to waive Weber. Either hold him for trade at the deadline, or at least retain his rights into the offseason. As for whether or not Tinordi would battle with Bouillon - if there's any thought that Tinordi would be sitting even some games, by all means send him down. Sitting and just practising with the team isn't going to help as much as playing; besides, he'll get the chance to come up and practice full-time with the Habs after Hamilton's season ends no matter what.
