I liked that part, that's why I put some of the contradicting opinions in there. All in all, he's a solid pick.

Those variations on a pretty fundamental question do make one wonder about the depth of the analysis contained in some of these reports. You know, they see one game and then write "he falls down a lot" because he blew a tire or something.

Anyway, it certainly seems like a good choice. I'll admit, though, that apart from the Galchenyuk draft, I tend not to get too high or low about any given Habs pick. Leblanc seemed like a solid choice too, meanwhile Price was hugely controversial, etc.. We'll know more in three years.

The impression I get, is that he's very fast, and his puck-handling is such that it's very hard to get the puck away from him, but his lateral movement needs work, so he's not going to go dancing around defenders PK Subban style and untying their skate laces on the way by. He takes a more straightforward "Go to the net!" approach.

Agree, take it hard to the net seems to pay off for Gallagher and seems Pacioretty does much better as well when he goes hard to net.

I've looked at the highlights video and read about Sherbak, and I have to say I really like this pick. Watching him play, reminded me of Galchenyuk alot. The kid seems to have great hands, can skate well, doesn't shy away from the rough stuff and seems to have alot of offensive upside.
