Big Bad Bruins NO MORE!

Chiarelli hasn't hesitated moving a player if they don't play the " Bruin way". Kessel, Thornton, Seguin etc..I guess Lucic, Campbell and Frazier will all be moved after all being one-punched? Hahaha, I don't feel the least bit sorry for them!

No ST. I tell you, teams are simply terrified to play the Panthers this season with Thorty's unique brand of shoves, angry looks and trash talk from the end of the bench.

Lucic was a heavyweight fighter in the WHL, then he got his clock cleaned by Orr and Erskine and he's been picking his spots ever since. Not that he isn't tough, but with his style of play he's going to be less effective every year. I bet some dumb team is going to give him a monster deal the year after next and regret it as much as the Clarkson deal.

Bruins lost a ton of talent over the last few seasons....Seguin,Horton,Thomas,Iggy,....also secondary players Boychuck and Thorton ....for now subtract Kretchi and Chara to injury.......and no they are not as big a deal as they were only a couple of seasons ago. Habs are 2-0 against them this season. Looking to got 3-0 after tonight.

Price against Bruins

Terkowski against Rangers

And on that note, from last night...

Makes my heart all warm and fuzzy..

I enjoyed that almost as much as I enjoyed this:

I really miss Subban's terrifying hip-checks. Even if they were high-risk, when they worked they were just crushing, and made opponents think twice about storming our zone.

On the wider question: it does appear that the Bruins might have reached their "best by" date and need to start thinking about a retooling. However, Chara - may the Lord afflict him with boils and pus - is an absolutely gigantic presence for them in more than one sense, and subtracting him from their roster is analogous to subtracting Subban or Price from ours. I don't think we can fully assess where they're at until organizationally he returns. That said, that he's something like 37 years old suggests that, even if this Bruins team is not past its prime, it's nevertheless on borrowed time. Armstrong is amazing, but he will probably not become a Chara. And the Seguin trade is going to haunt them for years to come.

Yes, but as i browsed the d graph I see that the Bruins have one of the youngest d corps in the league, even factoring in charas age. The core guys up front are all young as well. They and the habs will be battling tooth and nail for years to come. Chara will play till he is 42 easy. Less mobile but at 9 feet tall with a 12 foot stick he can afford to be.

Seguin haunting for years to come. Think you may be right about that.

Armstrong? You mean Hamilton I think.

it brought a tear to my eyes that the other guy actually let up once Lucic went down. But lucid being the punk he is, took a shot at the blue jacket afterwards when the ref was between them.

Yeah, I have this weird tic where I keep calling Hamilton "Armstrong." I don't know what the hell that is about.

(Speaking of Hamilton, did you see that brutal, uncalled ankle-slash on Gallagher? Talk about poetic justice when Galyl's stick flailed up and smashed him agonizingly in the gut. Surprised the refs didn't call Gally a two-minute minor for getting chopped down by dirty stickwork).

Looking at the shots today of the B's walking wounded, which seems to include almost every one of their core players, was a good reminder that premature burial is not a good idea for this bunch. They remain a formidable team. Just not right now.

And it looks good on those pr**ks. Nobody cried for us when Markov missed nearly three complete seasons, and the whole hockey world practically gave Chara a blow job for a deliberate act of attempted murder on Pacioretty. I just hope they remain injury-decimated come playoff time. It suits them.

Lol, Marchand was so hurtin' after that hit. I miss that shit too!

I've watched that video like ten times and I could watch it a thousand more

I spent at least 10 minutes watching it on DVR. I wish I would have gone to that game.

Up until the dirty groin shots and the classlessness in the handshake line, I always thought Lucic was the type of guy you hate more than anyone, unless he's on your team. Then he'd be your favorite. Now, he's just a tool whomI would never welcome to the Habs.

Would love to see that come back into his game.

Actually hoping the real PK comes back soon...............been watching him since junior...................never seen him so poor to average as he has been this season. Puzzling

Actually no, he hasn't taken selfish penalties lately nor taken himself out of position charging for big hit leaving his partner hung out to dry.

He hasn't looked as lost in his own end (still weak aspect of his game but he will just never be a Blake/Lidstrom)

His offense has been good and team is winning, so again it is likely your lofty expectations that are causing you some grief.

Relax man! :halm:

No grief here. Stating the obvious is all. Yes "lofty expectations"? Dont know about lofty. However, when a defenseman scores 14 goals in his rookie season, follows that up with a Norris trophy in his second full season, becomes the highest paid defense man in the league and highest paid Montreal Canadien of all time........expecting more than "not being lost his his own end, going out of position trying for the big hit, and on pace for 40 points........expecting more than that is "lofty expectations" MB thought the way he was playing last year was worth 9 mill a year for 8 years. I tend to agree.

But I do think PK will take his game up to another level. Sooner rather than later one would hope.

I simply think he game is 'less flashy' and more conservative than start of year (likely at request of coaches, as he took numerous stupid-lazy penalties, which needed to be corrected...without benching him and causing fan/media shitstorm again) and he is a work in progress and just am not too worried about him being there come April/May.

you are probably right. With the "A" and the raise in pay he probably has been guided toward becoming a more responsible player. Adjusting time expected.
