DON
Nevins likely playing?
dlbalr
Nevins likely playing? He might although I suspect they may want Macenauer back in before him. Maybe they'll make a few changes beyond Condon who is expected to start.
DON
Dogs get one quickly <3minutes, Thomas scores 1-0 End of 1st, 20-7 shots so far, nice!
dlbalr
Scott Darling's in net for Rockford. He was a Bulldog briefly a couple of years back, getting into garbage time in one of the school day games. He had a stellar year last year in Milwaukee after they gave him a chance to play regularly in the AHL. It's not often ECHL goalies on PTO's wind up becoming pretty good goalies but he's one that may have got away.
JCPetit
Dogs get one quickly <3minutes, Thomas scores 1-0 End of 1st, 20-7 shots so far, nice! Not bad. Last year there were games when they weren't able to total as much.
DON
1-1 now early 2nd period. Darling robs a wicked one timer from de la Rose. 0 for 3 on the PP, no good.
dlbalr
0 for 3 on the PP, no good. Some things never change...
DON
I can see OT coming! 8:43 left in 3rd Carr rocked by TJB hit Surprise surprise surprise, it is off to OT (I think 3 on3 is way less gimmicky than shootout.)
DON
de la Rose Nygren, Bournival is one of 3-on 3 groups Condon big save but rebound no good and again fall short 3-on-
dlbalr
Interesting that Carr was named first star. I didn't catch any of the game but that's encouraging. Another point at least... http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1013503
miklin
I think I knew we were in trouble when we only came out with one goal after dominating the first period. I guess 4 points out of a possible 6 is not bad. Post game show host Anthony Urcioli (sp?) was going on about the attendance (2200 I think) but I wouldn't be surprised if many minor pro and jr teams will be suffering with Rogers flooding the tv market with NHL games. I timed the dry scrape and it was about 7 1/2 minutes with two Zambonis. I guess I am an old phart but really didn't mind ties. The win at any cost philosophy is something that came about within the last 15 years in Hockey and Football to appease a younger crowd I guess. I just think the standings get so skewed with o/t and shoot out extra points. Time to rethink more points for an win in regulation? Saw Don Lever tonight-wish he was coaching still. Not a fan of Sly-using De La Rose on PK seemed odd to me
dlbalr
I'm not surprised that de la Rose is seeing PK time. He likely projects as a two-way third line centre down the road so I'd expect they're going to give him a bit of time on both the PP and the PK. Honestly, there aren't a whole lot of players I'd use ahead of him shorthanded (Dowell, Dumont...maybe Hudon who is a rookie as well). DON
I thought de la Rose would play a PK & checking role with Dogs and seems to be that way, so far anyways.
