January schedule

The Habs schedule could either make us or break us..I feel like Roy Scheider on Jaws "you're gonna need a bigger boat!" ...but, two of the three characters survive and the shark dies, so 66 win % will suffice nicely! We could distance ourselves at the top or fall back to the 6-7 slot...which is not necessarily a "break us " scenario, but, you know

Here it is for Jan:

PIT, TBL, PIT, CBJ, OTT, NYI, NSH, DAL, NYR, WSH

There's not one team on that list that's far ahead of MTL in the standings.

In fact, no team is.

Anaheim-56 pts (40 GP)

Montreal-52 pts (38)

You ever think those teams might be worried about playing us?

Every player I've seen interviewed in the last 2 seasons has said Habs are a very well structured team, that doesn't give you much, and can make you accountable for mistakes because of the pressure they keep on you, and their transition game is top notch. Paraphrasing a bit, but that's the idea of it...

We will find out tonight for a start.... I'm confident we can hold our own all the way, no team in the NHL is an easy win anymore, on paper is one thing, doing it is another.

This is our best road streak of the season obviously.

Last season we won four straight road wins in October but they were broken up by five home games.

In 2013 we won five straight games which was three road games, a home game and a road game.

It's mostly due to scheduling but the last time Montreal won four straight road games without any home game interruptions was in December of 2009 when we beat the Islanders, Thrashers, Hurricanes and Leafs.

I checked back every season all the way to 2003-2004 to see the last time Montreal won five straight road games (which they will if they beat Pittsburgh) and not once did Montreal have five straight road games and win them all. In other words it has been at least 10 years since the Habs won five straight road games with no games in between. Could be even longer!

All teams fear Carey Price.

The toughest games of January will be the first 3 games against Pitts (x2) and Tampa. We've already won the first game against Pitts, so things are looking up.

Agreed. A lot of desperate teams. Wouldn't take anybody lightly. The toughest stretch I see is in March.
