The IceCaps (this is going to take some getting used to) begin their preseason tonight in the first of three games in four nights against the Toronto Marlies as they battle for the Coleman Cup. Rather than make a separate GDT for each, we'll use this for the mini-series.

St. John's lineup:

Scherbak - McCarron - Eisenschmid

Bozon - Miceli - Gregoire

Crisp - Watson - Fournier

Blanchard - Wild - J. Brown

Hanley - Ellis

Bennett - Thrower

T. Brown - Lernout

Pasquale

(Players in italics are on tryouts.)

Puck drop is sometime around the time I finish typing out this sentence.

AM 930 has the call. It's a little staticky.

Well not a 'super' start, but 1st pre-season game can chuck results out window, but Thrower and others must be quite keen on earning a spot 'on the rock' and not in Brampton. And curious if any might of stood out, one way or other.

Some lineup changes for game 2:

Carr - McCarron - Thomas

Bozon - Dumont - Holloway

Crisp - Miceli - Eisenschmid

Blanchard - Watson - Fournier

Bennett - Dietz

Ellis - Lernout

T. Brown - Thrower

Pasquale is expected to start, no word on whether or not there will be a split with Fucale once again.

Puck drop is probably 6 PM EST again.

Well, now I see that one of goals was on the PP, so went 1 for 2 which maybe is a good sign?

Also Fucale played the 2nd half of game and Nikita chipped in with 1a.

I'm not going to get too excited about the PP just yet. The Leafs still have half the Marlies roster up with them; what they faced last night (and will tonight) is at best half an AHL team and a whack of ECHL guys/tryouts.

Marlies tie it up. At some point in the near future, we might find out who actually got the goal.

This is more or less how the goal was called:

'They take a shot, Pasquale makes the save but then they score. The Marlies tie it up at 8...............08 of the first period. (Papers rustling for several seconds) It's preseason for the broadcasters too, we're not quite sure who scored.'

McCarron dukes it out in a nothing fight.

Eishersmid (sp?) run from behind, draws penalty and not hurt.

Hollaway draws a penalty for a 5-on 3; what will 15-16 version do with this scoring opportunity?
