dlbalr
It was rumoured to be close earlier this week and now it's official, the Habs have signed 2014 5th rounder Daniel Audette to a three year entry level deal. Why they did this a year early is the biggest question. http://www.habsworld.net/2015/07/habs-sign-daniel-audette-to-a-three-year-entry-level-contract/

dlbalr
I don't mind that they signed him in the end. If he had a decent season, he was going to get a contract anyway and at the very least, he should be a useful AHL'er for a few years. That's decent value for a late 5th rounder. They must have seen something at development camp to want to get this done a year in advance.

dlbalr
Maybe money had something to do with it. Audette signed a pretty cheap deal from the looks of things and there appear to be very few bonuses in the contract (if any). Had they waited, maybe it would have cost a bit more had he had a strong year?
