That looks like a real team, I guess the time for looking at rookies is pretty much gone. They will get a couple of looks here and there but that's it. Hudon and Scherbak being the only kids in tonite.

They bounce back and forth between a veteran lineup and a rookie lineup.

There seem to be rumblings that the CI free preview has been canned for the remainder of the preseason. I'm not sure if that's across all carriers or just some.

Yeah, I just dropped the $209.00 on it. The girlfriend won't be too pleased when that bill shows up.

Holy shit ! So glad I leave in Montreal with both RDS and TVA Sports in my tv bundle...

Man, I like Tyson Barrie. Too bad he's on Colorado.

(For the record - Tyson Barrie last year is what a sophomore defenseman with 30 NHL games under their belt is supposed to play like when they're ready.)

Is anybody else skeptical about Emelin potentially facing top lines in a pairing with Subban?

As long as he's a bit quicker this year, I think he should be okay. I suspect he'll be more comfortable on his natural side as well. I don't think he'll see Subban-type minutes either which is nice; even if he's paired with him at even strength, he won't see anywhere near the special teams time.

The problem is, what other options are there? Ideally Markov plays less this year and if the likes of Tinordi/Beaulieu could only be trusted with 12-14 minutes a night of ice time last year, neither of them will be ready to play closer to 20-22. Emelin's the right choice to start there.

I am concerned. I hope he's okay there. The alternative is to pair Weaver with Subban on the top pairing (which is a lot like pairing him with Gorges, only Gorges was better.)

Still, this is is just preseason. Everyone's rusty. It's too early to panic.
