I don't think it comes as much of a surprise to many out there considering Sheldon Kennedy's revelations years ago, but Theoren comes out with the truth in his book about the abuse he took at the hands of Graham James.

I wish Theo had made it back this year; it would have been an appropriate way to finish out the career of one of the most exciting players the game has seen. I'll never forget him dipping, diving and sliding his way across the ice after scoring that winning goal so many years ao.

Here's hoping we'll see more of him associated with the NHL in the near-enough future.

You know the first thing that came to mind when I saw he was writing the book? Was he really trying to come back during the preseason, or just get his name in the media to generate some interest to increase sales? (Without taking anything away from the content/revelations in the book of course...)

With the way he played, it certainly seemed like it was for real. He seemed to play pretty well, I was actually surprised he got cut.

That could probably explains the alcohol problem (or part of it...).

When Kennedy revealed it first, it was said there was another player who was abused by Graham James and was playing in the NHL. We didn't know at the time because the other player didn't want to reveal it. Thought it could have been Sakic, being so low key and shy. Didn't think it was Fleury. What a nightmare. I hope his book will help him/others.

Oh everyone here pretty much knew it was Fleury right away when it was announced there was another player. Extremely sad story but his life has done a 180 in the last couple of years so he's already found the light at the end of tunnel which is great.

I saw a couple of games Fleury played during the pre-season as well. To suggest he only did it to boost book sales is extremely insulting. He's an extremely proud individual and didn't want to end his career by getting kicked out of the NHL.

I already have Theo's first book, I'll be getting this one as well. Fleury was my first ever favourite hockey player. My childhoods Iginla, so to speak. The one player in Calgary that every kid knew. That #14 better damn well be hanging from the rafters soon.

Colin, after his retirement speech, he said on the Fan that he'd be extremely interested in taking a coaching job so I'm sure we'll see him soon enough. Hopefully with the Flames.

Thinking back, he was probably one of the few stars of the league I actually liked. I mean, back then, for me it was Montreal or death, so to say I liked him means that, if he was in the NHL today, he'd be a favourite and I'd follow him.

As for a jersey retirement? I think that should happen as well. Particularly since all this came about. Why should these revelations help? Well, consider the career he could have had had he not succumbed to his demons? He was already a perennial All-Star, I think he could have been one of the best wingers all-time had he not had to fight things any human shouldn't have to fight.

Glad to hear he's up for a coaching job. Hope he starts small (not like Carbonneau) and works his way up. Banner day if he ever gets behind the bench of an NHL team, though. His kind of fiery attitude and perseverence need to be around the game.
