Wow.. that lineup is not what we needed going against the Pens. Let's hope the kids strut their stuff and the Pens suck today..
Halak.. if you have any superpowers left this week, now is the time.

Interesting stat matchup:
Halak is 7-0 in games he's faced 40+ shots & the Penguins are 7-1-0 when registering 40+ shots.
Calling for a 4-3 win for the Habs! Gomez with 2 goals!

Big game for Darche as the Habs have a decision to make after today. If they demote him before tomorrow's game, he won't need waivers. If he plays though, he'll have to clear later on.
Surprisingly...I'm not worried. This is practically a throway game for the habs, they aren't supposed to beat the Pens, which means no pressure.
Damn..Gomezs head like exploded...damn that was a lot of blood....100 year curse wont leave us!

Feb 6 2010, 02:06 PM
Wow, nice start.. Gomez takes a puck to the back of the head in warm up and goes off with blood running down his head.. off for stitches...
brobin
Feb 6 2010, 02:09 PM
I wonder who shot that... one of the kids? LOL... I see some duct tape in someones future.
Haha it was Halak..he's giving him notice not to cough up the puck in the defensive zone anymore hehe.
I would ask peeps to have a bit of forgiveness for todays game...cause to be honest this is a shadow of the team as it's supposed to be. Be gentle...haha Brobin I'm looking at you!
Hahahahah.....GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!

Me, I am always gentle.

This game looks to be a mess though given the sloppy play.
I can't want for someone to blame Halak for that rebound that went in... I hope that hit his hands...

Blah fair is fair...should be even anyway.
Nah see Brobin thats not the rebounds I bemoan..it's on weak shots that he turns into 2nd and 3rd chance score chances.

Feb 6 2010, 02:24 PM
LOL...
I know you don't like his rebound control... consider this..
How good will Halak be when he has played as many games as Price? Will his rebound control improve? Will he get even better?
Still, I don't believe his high shot totals are a result of his rebounds..maybe 4 or 5 shots... but that is not why he is getting shelled every game.
wow.. .Darche is here to play tonight.. almost got one there!

Rebound control is not the strongest aspect of Halak's game. How about we just leave it alone. He's playing great right now, that's good news. We've drafted and developed two good young goalies.

Yeh, Kozari is a horrible ref.

Feb 6 2010, 02:38 PM
Wow.. Halak has to be one of the best reaction goalies I have seen in a long time in this league. Cat like reflexes.
The boys are creating turnovers, just need to bury some. On the other hand, the longer this game is in contention the better. We get up two goals and JM will have them in their own zone the rest of the night.
brobin
Feb 6 2010, 02:43 PM
the kid line hasn't buried one, but they are playing with fire and energy. What more can you ask for.

Any word on what Pouliot's injury is or if he'll be in tomorrow.
I don't get why we aren't playing one of the kids with Gionta and Gomez??
brobin
Feb 6 2010, 02:56 PM
Yes, my major crush..
Check my posts this year... I called him a backup goalie with potential...
Right now he is playing great and yes, I think he is an awesome reflex goalie. Don't you? That is his major strength. Price's strength is size and positional.
It seems some of you can't wait for halak to slip so you can start slagging him.. oh wait, some people have been slagging him while he has been posting .95 plus save percentages.
And unlike JackP, I have stated several times I want Price hung on too, I just don't want him annointed despite his play. I a am a habs fan and I want the the team to win, not Price or Halak to win something. I am also on the record of hoping that they give enough games to both of them, because as we go into the playoffs we might need both of them fresh. I want Price in tomorrow, regardless of how Halak plays today..

You're right. You are consistent, and you have called for playing time for both, and the desire to keep them both. We're all just having fun!!!

Feb 6 2010, 02:59 PM
Wow.. only 7 shots for Pitts. Halak must be bored.

The team is doing a much better job of blocking shots and playing aggressive defense today. I sure hope they can keep it up. It would be great to see a game when our goalie doesn't face over 30 shots.
I have a feeling we have seen the last of Dags this year.
Its okay, but putting me in a thread with JackP is just mean.
