Are we seriously starting Huet again?! Give the guy a break! That's a CH on his chest, not an S!

But it doesn't matter who we start... gonna teach those Bruins a lesson...

GO HABS GO!!!
habschris
The habs better start learning to stay out the box or they will not make the playoffs. Tired or not they were in the game against the leafs until they had like 6 penalties in a row. I would be shocked if Danis didn't get the start. Huet needs to get a rest sometime.
kaos
Agreed, Huet needs a rest, and the dumbass penalties need to stop, or in a short period of time the Habs are going to find themselves on the outside looking in.
Come Gainey, get the guys thumbs out of their asses and get em playing good hockey.

Ya, the dumbass penalties do have to stop.......but it was lopsided last night. Some of these infractions getting called are simply just really cheesy. Especially when they put a team down 2 guys for such a long time.

I like the new rules and speed of the game but I hate the fact that when a penalty is called now..no-one on the ice knows who, what, when , where and how....then in the replay they show a player was wiping his nose or scratching his nuts............5 on 3. That's what you get.

Too hard to grasp what's wrong and right.......I do get it, I'm just left shaking my head too many times, thinking this isn't hockey.
habschris
Well alot of the habs penalties were penalties. There were 2 questionable ones i thought. Thge problem was i saw 2 definate penalties on the leafs not called and one was clearly a make up call. Consistancy is all you can ask from an official. Call it both ways. The way the habs played last night they deserved to lose, don't blame the refs, it's a cop out for a poor performance.
MAK
didn't see the game yesterday..but apparently they got penalies for hooking allison ?? wtf... that tells me one thing: lazy asses. he's probably the slowest skater in the NHL...come on 1wall.gif
gohabsgo252006
The Habs were tired and did deserve to lose, but i'm not going to let the refs off the hook that way, there was no consistency. Obvious penalties weren't called (on the leafs) and tick tack ones were. Even Dandenault commented on the reffing in games played in Toronto this year (you can read it on rds.ca)

I wouldn't be surprised to see Huet in net again, a day off today an important game. That way Danis will start at home on Saturday, but I said previously i thought he should've started one of teh two games against philly and TO,

To me this game is the most important of the season, we went on a mini-roll got into a good playoff position, now we've suffered some adversity, can we come back from it fininsh the road trip in a strong way. THat will determine if we will make the playoffs and what position that will be.

Let's hope for a better rejuvenated performance (and maybe a new player or two to help).

this game, we're screwed -- Bruins have picked up the deadly sniper Czerkawski -- back to haunt us!

Boston Claims Mariusz Czerkawski

who starts? Huet or Aebischer?

IMO, the only way we don't start Aebisher is if we trade him before 3:00 Thursday.

I agree. 1habslogo.gif

I heard somewhere (sorry, forget where) that Aebischer wont be reporting to the habs until Friday. So if thats true, then he's definitely not starting tomorrow.
gohabsgo252006
I wouldn't be surprised to see Huet start and play stellar knowing that he has some competition now...he won't want Abby stealing what he just stole.

That's assuming Abeischer is still a habs and has reported. Fairly large assumption at this point

You are correct: Aebischer said he would return to Denver to pick up some belongings on Thursday and join the Canadiens for practice on Friday.

there's no rush anyway..we have the same roster we had on tuesday
CoRvInA
Danis should get the start..... unless .... No even if we trade for another goalie like Luongo still he wont be in Boston i believe

Final remark! Status quo for Boston!
JMMR
Danis will not start tonight I do not believe.
Tonight's game is now very important as the Canadiens only lead the 9th place Thrashers by a single point, and although the Canadiens hold 2 games at hand those games only count if points come from them. Also with the Bruins currently 7 points back a win tonight would put them nine back and virtually out of the playoff race, the Iles have seemed to count themselves out already and they have the same amount of points as the Bruins and have played a game less.
MAK
I think huet will feel the heat and will want to show his best goaltending yet.
would be nice to end up this trip on a positive note
JLP
Ok after all the Théo hoopla I will settle back into the routine of making a prediction: Habs 3 Bruins 0; we get our goals from Markov, Koivu and Ryder.
kaos
This game could have disastorous consequences for Montreal should Huet start and play like he has the last two games. He has given up 10 goals in the last 2 games, and should Montreal get blown out like they did in Toronto, by a team thats chasing them, could potentially send this team into a slide and destroy alot of confidence this team has been building.
Gainey had better make sure these guys are ready to play tonight and play hard. This is the most critical game of the season, and they only become more important from here on out.
Trizzak
My 1000th post shall not be a trade remark.

No.

It has to be.....GO HABS GO

Go Habs go!

"Montreal is special because it's the Mecca of hockey. I don't think it's different because the goal is the same - to win the Stanley Cup. For a hockey player, to play for an organization like Montreal is an honour."

- David Aebischer

Welcome Abby.
lazy26
We can pretty much put the Bruins out of playoff contention with a win tonight... let's DO IT!

Boston just traded Samsonov to EDM.. hope this helps us tonight!
gohabsgo252006
Tonight begins the official Christo ERA of Habs hockey.

I think he gets the start tonight and he shows everyone why

GO HABS GO

Important game tonight

Does this mean the Bruins have already given up on the playoffs?

possibly, but they did get a good two way forward back in Marty Reasoner. Boston also got a decent prospect to. But giving up Samsonov is an indication that the season may be finished.

New goaltending nickname: The Wine (France = Huet) & Cheese (Switzerland = Aebischer) Bench! biggrin.gif

Go Habs Go and tame these teethless bears!

People said Bostons season was finished when they traded away Thornton and they've managed to hang around. Just because Samsonov is gone, Boston won't quit. They'll come out firing, and they'll be all over Montreal tonight. Montreal has to be very very carefull not to have a repeat performance of last game or they are ######ed
The-Habby2919
I agree again.... GO HABS GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the bright side, Reasoner most likely WON'T be playing tonight, so basically we'll be playing a Samsonov- and Thornton-less Boston Bruin team tonight. Sounds good to me. biggrin.gif

The team by far has to be more at ease then the Bruins but this could work against us! We should be warned that its a do or die situation for us as it is for Bruins TO and The ILes! lets not give them a starting chance! lets give it all we have a core with Depth Now lets give it Boys AWay away Allons y!

Well hopefully the Canadiens can take advantage and put two points in the win column in regulation time
HABBER-oooooKNOWS
Well just got home from work to find not much else happend. I was hoping for a scoring, big forward but, no such luck.

Anyways, I'm still buzzing with excitement, knowing Theo is finally off our backs!!!! STOKED

So, Mr.Ribeiro.....show you got what it takes ........or............you won't be re-signed by anybody next year...

Let's take what we have and push as far as we can go.........

GO HABs GO.......

Screw those Bruins.......

Man, that is one team that royally F&^^&cked themselves this year, PANICK STRICKEN!!!

So glad we have Gainey!!!!!!!

EXCELLENT news regarding Pleky, gotta love that kid. Not surprised to see Sunny back in, we'll see if he can prove to us that we should keep him in the lineup and whether or not to sign him next year.

Let's hope for another CH night from C. Higgins and C. Huet for the 1habslogo.gif !

1gohabs.gif

TSN reporting that the Habs are looking sluggish tonight.

Hooking on Ryder, two minute powerplay for us!

Time to go "pee-pee" on Thomas! biggrin.gif

1gohabs.gif

Another hooking penalty, Zednik set up on a partial break and he got hauled down. Hopefully this powerplay will be better, the last one had a few chances, but didn't look particularily good.

Buffalo is up 1-0 on the Bolts.

Here come the penalties........................

boy sure is quiet here tonight. If it wasnt for you dark_faerie87 i would have no idea what was going on.

Present. That was a pretty crappy call on Bulis by the way. It looked like the goalie slashed him and he got a penalty for it.
dark_faerie87
Hmm, not a very exciting game so far. Very little intensity by both teams, very few shots.

I didn't catch it real-time and TSN didn't show a replay of it...go figure.

Nice save by Huet.
