  2. A random note - I'll be doing a pregame panel appearance on CP24 tonight starting around 8:10 that will run until just before puck drop. So if you're tired of the talking heads on the CBC panel, you will have an alternative for a few minutes.

  3. Apparently it all happened at Goalie Coach Manny Legace's house. Fellow columbus goalie Elvis Merzlikins and his pregnant wife were also there and witnessed this. They were staying at Legace's house as they were going to Legace's daughter's wedding. Just awful all around.

  4. By all accounts Romanov is a coach’s dream. He is eager, capable, teachable, etc. All at a high level. Tell the guy to shoot and he will Tell him to step up and shoot instead of backing off to be safe and he will. Instruct him and let him make the mistakes without benching him. He has clearly been coached to be conservative - let him go and sharpen his strengths.

  5. different roles, different matchups. KK has been unable to win faceoffs, and set plays are killin gthe Habs. Also, he is not moving his feet and tends to "fall over like bambi" (like it was mentioned on this forum) making him miss backchecking assignments

  6. because the NHL is not a development league. That model has been proven wrong multiple times across multiple organization over decades

  7. I read his scenario as start the season there (ie, short-term), not play the full season there. If it was a full-season assignment, then yes, invoking the clause makes sense.

  8. Guys, I just want to drop a friendly reminder that Josh Anderson put up 17 goals in a 50 game season, he is easily a 22 - 28 goal guy on a full 80 games, and he did so playing in the top 6 for the most part. He has been relegated to 3rd line duties since the playoffs began with even a stint on the 4th line, the heaviness of his game has been more outlined than his goal scoring in these playoffs because of it. He has accepted his role and outside the Suzuki line, the other lines have generally popped in and contributed in games in sequences. There has only been one line truly firing on all offensive cylinders. As a side note, after reviewing most of his first dozen goals, they come generally, with Suzuki and Drouin, a luxury he has not had for quite some time. Enjoy the ride fellas, no time for pissing and moaning and harping on guys who have contributed in getting us to the chance we had in these playoffs.

  10. ONE guess which city's media this came from...even if i cut this, tiny bit out of context. "On the other — and here is where the jokes come in — down 3-0 to the Lightning, it’s still been 28 years since they actually won a game in the final. Ba-dum-TISH. That’s the fear now — that if the Habs get swept in a series in which they have looked overwhelmed and overmatched, they will have something to be embarrassed about. That four games will essentially wipe out what they accomplished in the previous three rounds of the playoffs. That they have gone from being put on a pedestal to being the country’s punch line."
