I am not saying he would be an upgrade. I am just saying that some people think he is and that could be a reason why some people are upset. I don't think that its just because he is French that this is a story like it was brought up in a post earlier.

I am not complaining about anything, I was just pointing out that I don't think that some are making a big deal about it because he is French, but because Bergevin hasn't done anything to upgrade the team and he was out there on the UFA market.

I think it Has more to do with the fact Bergevin hasn't upgraded this team and some saw Duclair Best available upgrade through UFA. Now any type of upgrades will have to be by trade.

The reason for that is because once we dropped the rebuild label and became contenders we stopped the development of young players. We started trading away draft picks for players that we thought could take us to a finals and hopefully win a cup. But it never worked out, because we never filled our Ture weaknesses which were lack of goal scoring and lack of a depth At center. When Bergevin took over he had a strong NHL playoff contending team. But He took over a weak farm system and did nothing to address it and we are feeling the affect of it now.

Buffalo should be a playoff team, Arizona and Carolina well you just never know with them. I think our battle is with Ottawa and Vancouver, we have the better goaltender out of them. Our defense is so weak I don't think even Price can be a deference maker as we seen last season. But once Pacioretty gets traded how long tell you think Price and Weber want out?

Snow never treated his players poorly, he just made bad hockey moves. Bergevin has a history of treating his players bad and mishandling them. Look at how he handled PK both with the bridge deal, then signing him long term and trading him. Look at how he handled galchenyuk Look at how he throws the team under the bus Look at what's going on with Pacioretty If you're a player and Bergevin calls you to see if you're interested in signing would you? Hell no I wouldn't.

Once we trade Pacioretty there would be a hole opened up that he could of filled. I am also sure we offered him more money. Tavares didn't even put us on his list of teams he want to sign with. And dont give me that BS that he wanted to sign with his hometown team, because if that was the case why entertain offers from 3 other teams. Players in this league I fill don't trust him.

Looks like Duclair picks Columbus over Habs. 1 year 650k Something tells me players in the league don't trust Bergevin. They see how he throws his players under the bus when he talks to the media and dont want any part of him.

Well never mind a center they need to get back a top Defenseman in a trade for Pacioretty. This is our weaknesses point in the organization right now. Center is ok with Kotkaniemi and Poehling, plus it looks like we're in the running for another top 5 pick so that would give us another top center to add to this group. We need Defensemen.

I don't understand why they didn't upgrade the D knowing Weber would miss all this time. Guess they really want that 1st overall pick. I am already on the tank wagon.

How do you know ❔did Max tell you that himself ?. If we sign max to a extension that extension kicks in July 1st when free agency starts. Which means at the draft we can still trade him to who ever we want to because he is still under his old contract.

Yes but you can put in a date when that NTC kicks in like Subban contract

I would try and get a 1st round pick and young NHL ready player for Pacioretty. Deep draft we should try and get as many 1st as we can. What I would do is resign Pacioretty with the idea of trading him at the draft. If he wants a NTC we let it kick in after July 1st, This way we can still trade him. If we can get a top 7-15 pick for Pacioretty and a young NHL ready player then do the deal.

Or he can package Danault with Pacioretty and see what he can get?

Looks like Danault is looking for top center money even though he is a 3rd line center. His agent is making the point that, that's were the habs are going to play him because hes at the top of the depth chart when it comes to centers. Could we be seeing then end of Danault as a habs ?

Edmonton has about 7mil in cap space but they have to sign Nurse , Strome and Slepyhev. So Nurse would be the big contract out of the 3. Lets say Nurse gets 4.5mil a year Storm gets 1.5mil that's 6mil which would leave them 1mil in cap space. So in order to make this work lets say habs eat 3mil of Weber's contract , that would put him at 4.8mil a year which isn't bad. So we would have to take on more money so To Edmonton Weber To habs 1st round pick, top prospect and Klefbom That would even everything out

At this point would you shop Weber? Tell teams we will eat the max that we can on his contract if we get a top prospect, a 1st round pick and a young NHL ready player?

At this point just let the kids play. See what we got.

I am just trying not to put the sports news or Reg news on here in Toronto. They already think they should be handed the cup. Man its going to be a long summer and hockey season. I hope they find some way to f*^k this up.

So after seeing what buffalo got for O'Reilly I saw lets move Pacioretty to center and see how he does. Maybe we can get even more for him. Have the team look like this Domi - Pacioretty - Gallagher Byron - Danault - Drouin Lehkonen - Plekenec - Shaw Deslauriers - Peca - Armia Rose, Hundon Mete - Weber Alzner - petry Ouellet - schlemko Reily, Benn Price Niemi

And that's why boys and girls I wanted Bergevin to pass on this trade. Thank god he did.
