Good to get that distraction out of the way before the draft. Once again we are used by a player to increase his salary.

So much for wants to play for the habs...

If the asking price was both Dach and Anderson and are 5th pick I glad they said no. In no way would I part with are 5th pick and Dach for PLD.

  2. If we still had Bergevin as GM I would be very worried in this situation, but with these guys runing the show i have the out most confidence in them.  Dach isn't going anywhere he's part of the new core group of players.  And these guys aren't going to over pay for PLD.  A good sign will be who we take at 5, if we draft a center then they're not trading for PLD. If we draft a Winger or defensemen I think we're making the trade.

Yeah, despite my comment, I don’t think anyone is really hoping for a tank this year. As MSL noted, it’s time to start shifting expectations - not towards a Cup (yet) but toward being a competitive team. I’ll be OK if we don’t make the playoffs, but I’ll be disappointed if we’re not in the mix for a good portion of the season.

Of course, this doesn’t mean moving picks/prospects for immediate help, and it certainly doesn’t mean adding guys in the back-9 of their careers on sizeable tickets, which are things that might happen if we were contenders. It does mean that we need to pivot from being happy that kid X looks like he belongs in the NHL, to starting to demand that he contribute to winning some hockey games.

And if Gallagher lives up to his contract, that would be MASSIVE in terms of on-ice results. But I just don’t believe he can do it any more.

To be honest if we stay healthy i think we make the playoffs.

We should be adding some more young good talent in this year's draft. We just need to trim the fat off this team. By that I mean Hoffman, Armia, Dvorak and some how get rid of Gallagher and his big contract, we should be okay.

What kind of assets would we need to ship out in order to trade up a spot or two?

I guess either way, we’re shipping something out - whether for Dubious or to move up. 🤷‍♂️

I would be surprised if Hoffman, Armia and Dvorak are still part of this team come training camp. Hoffman and Armia I think if we can't trade them they will be bought out. Dvorak I think still has trade value because he's under contract to a cap friendly deal, and if we're trading for a better center he'll be part of what's going the other way.

But this is the best time of year, I think the draft week and free agency has past the trade deadline in my opinion. So it should be a interesting next few weeks.

Regarding Michkov: are the Habs really in a place where taking a huge swing for what must be considered a somewhat risky proposition make sense in the early days of a rebuild? Wouldn’t it be better asset management to pick a slightly lesser skilled player who is going to assist the rebuild more immediately?

Don’t get me wrong, high-end skill is great. I’m just not sure that Michkov is the best use of this pick in particular.

Not that I’d be disappointed, I’m just not sure it’s the best use of this pick.

How's it risky pick? He's under contract for 2 more years in Russia then wants to come to the NHL. That works out perfect for us, we're rebuilding and should be coming out of our rebuild by the time he's ready to come in 2 years.  It's actually perfect timing for us. If he's there at 5 we can't pass him up.

Draft him let him play his contract out then bring him to Montreal.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m just sick of everything Gallagher

Sucks that he will be part of the team for five more years.

We don’t need a “warrior” we need some speed and skill.

Yeah I was wondering if Florida’s pick is enough of a base to get it done.

Like Florida’s pick plus Dvorak plus a guy like Ylonen? They will ask for Hutson or maybe Beck/Roy but that isn’t happening.

Gurianov can go pound salt. I don’t want him even for minimum.

    How does a offer like

    Florida's 1st round pick +Dvorak +Kovacevic,  have Hoffman be a throw in

    For

    PLD

This trade helps the jet's with depth and guys under contract. Plus they get a middle round 1st round pick that would give them a nice young prospect.

  7. I've been saying this all year that this is the most excited I've been about our youth and development since the days when Price, Gallagher, Pacioretty, Subban were all young and up and coming prospects.

This team will be fun to watch in the next 3-4 years.

Now if we don't get the 1st overall pick and lose out on Bedard then PLD is plan B. Any trade for PLD I think will include Dvorak .

Drouin won't be back unless he takes a huge pay cut which i don't see him doing. I can see him taking less money to play with his buddy Nat in Colorado.

I hope we can trade  Armia , Gallagher and Allen. Maybe Hoffman will be a buy out.

I really hope we keep Anderson I think he's part of this new core group of players. So team could look like this next year

    Caufield  - Suzuki  - Dach

    Slaf  - PLD - Anderson

    Gurianov - Evans  - Gallagher

    Armia  - Pitlick  -  Pezzetta

    Matheson - Savard

    Edmundson - Guhle

    Harris  - Xhekaj

    Ex Barron, Kovacevic

    Montembeault

    ?

This could pretty much be our starting lineup.

There is zero chance of him being available with Florida’s pick.

I'm just saying if he goes past 10 we could always use Florida's pick to trade up and draft him. It may cost some extra picks as well, but he would be a good gamble after 10 but not top 5.

It was filmed on a security camera.

As for would people care?  Yes.... damaging someone's wheelchair for no reason shows that you are an asshole, and I care cause we had no idea who the person was and what it's going to take to repair the chair.  Its bullshit to pick on someone with a disability for no reason.    The fact you don't care about this shows that you too might be an asshole.  Do you have no empathy for the person with a disability who was harmed by this.  If there chair is damaged and not working properly, it can effect their whole life and can be expensive to repair.

Vandalism in general is a crime.  But doing it to someone who is disabled and damaging something that is a key part of their life is bullshit.

I understand that, what I'm trying to say is the only reason it's making the news is because of who his father is. Otherwise no one would of ever cared about it. It's a Dick move on his part but do you think they would of posted the video on their social media feed if his father wasn't a former NHL star? No they would of not.

  10. Here's a question would anyone of film this act if his dad wasn't who he is? Would anyone of care if he's dad didn't play in the NHL. The answer is no.   The person that put this on their Twitter did it for likes and view's and that's it.

He might not be going to Laval right away as it turns out.  If Edmundson gets traded and Barron can't go, Allard could be recalled to play tonight.  LA's farm team is in California so he's close enough to travel to join the Habs in Anaheim.

You beat me to my post lol was just righting the something 😂
