We have Florida's 1st round pick this year which should be at 20 plus if they don't get knocked out in the 1st round. not sure how good the depth is but if the top goaltender isn't taken at the point were we're picking with Florida's pick i would take the top goaltender in next year's draft with that pick.

If we're going to retire Saku Koivu number one day then we do the same to Price. I think those are the only 2 names I would retire that don't have cup's but have made a big impact in our team's history since the cap era has started.
They both did everything they could to win.

It's a deep draft in the top 10. So i would be okay picking anywhere in the top 10. But would love back to back 1st overall picks.

If the jets think they're getting a 1st plus for PLD they're crazy. Especially from us. Just wait 2 years sign him as a UFA. In 2 years time we'll have lots of cap space to build around our young core group of players.

Was reading Montreal doesn't want to take back salary on petry's contract which is making it hard to trade him. Dallas was interested in petry but want Montreal to take back salary.
If that's the case hold on to him and hope he has a turn around season, then trade him at the deadline.

I wouldn't expect anything big in terms of signing ufa's for the habs. I remember KG saying don't aspect them to be in on any 5 star ufa's.
Also they really don't have to trade Petry right away. They could hold on to him tell the trade deadline, hoping he plays good so they can get more.

Seen an interview with Wright before the draft, he had said he didn't want to go down in the farm system to play. He wanted to play in the NHL right away. Wonder if that played on Montreal not picking him. Especially since we're rebuilding.

If their isn't one worth taking with Florida's pick and they think they can get one with our 2nd round pick the do so.
With that being said I think when we do draft a goaltender it has to be in the first our 2nd round and they have to be a blue chip prospect. Not gamble on a goaltender in the 6th or 7th round.
