How did we ever let GERARD GALLANT walk away I will never understand. I've always liked him as a coach.

At what point do we draft a goaltender? With the news on Price not looking good we need to find his replacement. So is it this year's draft or next year's draft we draft a goaltender?

Man can't remember as a habs fan being this excited about a draft.

Good thing is we're either going to pick 1st or 2nd. I'd be okay with 2nd this year and 1st next year's draft 😹

No reason to play him, I think they just wanted to get him some games before the season ended. Now there's no need to risk anything.

We should of traded Price and Weber when Bergevin made the decision to retool. When you have a Price and Weber on your team that can still help you win now you don't rebuild or retool you build a winner around them. We would of got a lot more value for them. But now we have lost out and hopefully we can get a good return on Price.

Well if his first game back showed us anything, its on a good team needing a goaltender Price would put them over the top and potentially help them win a cup. On a bad team he isn't helping 💩. So those team that need a goaltender like Price. Colorado Toronto Edmonton Pittsburgh Caps Florida These team's if they don't win a cup in the next 2 years because of their goaltenders will be in the market for a guy like Price. Now the problem cap space. Contract length won't be an issue since it will only be with in 3-2 years left depends on when we trade him. So I would tell those team's a 1st round pick a 2nd round pick and prospect for Price and we take back the max amount of his contract that we can. Price at $5.5mil for 2-3 years these team's would jump all over that. Now with Florida they have BOBROVSKY big contract so you can take them off the list because I would rather keep Price then take on Bobrovsky contract over Price contract.

Man feel bad for Allen what a season from hell he has had and this team for that matter.

I know Price and Allan are good friends and all, but I would look at trading Allan and his contract to save cap space and go with Price and Montembeault as our goaltenders. I think Montembeault has earned a spot on this team for next year. He's been a nice surprise this year.

I agree with you, I think this year was a right off year do to lack of depth and a weak D. If we can address those issues I think we can make the playoffs next year. We have a lot of picks the next 2 years which we can trade to fill holes or add to our youth. We have added a lot of younger guys also with the guys we picked up. I truly think we don't need to rebuild. We should of rebuild this team and blow it up 3 years ago Instead of the retool. If we continue to trade our ufa's that we don't plan on resigning and using those assets to add depth to our organization we can become a playoff team on a regular bassist.

What last year Stanley cup finals taught us is that we need more Playmakers on D. After Weber and Petry got hurt there was no one who could put the puck on the net or had a good shot from the point. After we trade Petry I would make a play for Chychrun. We have the picks and young talent on D to make that kind of trade. Then I would try and add a vet playmaker on D via UFA. Chychrun / Romanov Edmonton / Barron UFA / Savard Much better well rounded Dcore

A great scouting team, great player development and depth on all levels. Smart trades and UFA signings. That's the blue print for a long successful organization and team.

We have 23 picks in the next 2 years nice job indeed by this management. This is what I have been saying for awhile, if you think you can make the playoffs by the trade deadline you should be adding in order to help you make the playoffs. If you're out of the playoffs by trade deadline you should be getting value in return for your ufa's and rfa's that you don't want back. We just always did nothing well other teams in the race improved. Which always left us missing the playoffs.

Loving what the habs are doing, finally getting value for ufa's and rfa's that we don't plan on bring back.

Finally we have a management team that knows how to get value out of ufa's.

So do the habs do any other trades tomorrow?🤔 Drouin and Byron have 2 years left so could be interesting pick ups for playoff team's. Kulak, wideman, Dauphin, PERREAULT all ufa's Lehkonen, Pitlick , Pezzetta all rfa's All players could be interesting pick ups for playoff team's wanting to add depth. Drouin could be an interesting opinion for the Avs if they lose out on other's. Would have to eat some of his contract I would think.

Now if we're not in a full rebuild we got 3 1st round picks we can trade if we wanted to to bring in an elite player via trade.

The Canadiens have traded defenseman Ben Chiarot to the Florida Panthers in exchange for Tyler Smilanic, a 1st-round pick in 2023, and a 4th-round pick in 2022. Not bad at all for the habs

No news yet on what's coming back our way. Keep in mind they have no 1st or 2nd round picks this year. So if it's a 1st its going to be next year's.

At least we will get parts in return for our ufa's that we won'T bring Back, something we haven't done in the last 20 Years we have always just let the walk.

Looks like habs are sitting Ben chiarot before the trade deadline. Smart move we finally have a management team doing things right.
