  1. "Supposedly" Allen still on the Devils radar. Devils Rumors: Team Still "Kicking Tires" On 3 Goalies - NHL Trade Rumors - NHLTradeRumors.Me
  2. Jordan Harris was on the ice (with his teammates this morning for the morning skate) wearing a grey jersey suggesting no contact. Indicates positive progress.
  3. No lineup changes, other than Allen Xhekaj has improved the things he was sent down to work on ... some nights are harder than others but progress being made Ylonen not playing (obvious with no changes) ... work being done with him is "details of his game" (e.g., where he goes when he doesn't have the puck ... which I take as different that just defence)
  4. Bodes well that there is no consideration of him playing again this season AND that his rehab has progressed to this point ... the summer should hopefully be getting to 100% physical readiness rather than just rehabbing the specific injury.
  5. It is an exceptional rookie season for offence, but that was never my concern with regard to Mailloux ... since it was his defensive game that needed/needs development I hope they don't rush him, nor fans want them to do (NOT saying you suggested that), based on his offence.
  6. Which is why my "condition" was that Dvorak is traded ... then KK could be worth a peek as a 3C. There are only 7 players left from the last Habs' team he played on, including Allen who hopefully will be moved by next season and Caufield who played all of 10 games in 20/21 ... new management, new team-mates, rebuilding team on which he wouldn't be expected to make a mahor contribution and perhaps(?) most importantly a player-friendly/supportive coach ... all that might make Montreal an interesting option.
  7. It MIGHT well wind up being a mild concussion ... the real indicator of its' severity will be when next he skates ... as @Commandant explained, a physical test is a normal part of the process once symptoms subside ... but if there is any recurrence of symptoms the process starts over.
  8. I would throw Bergevin in the mix as well ... making an easily matched offer sheet at Aho was a risky move ... and I have to expect that Dundon had a reputation for having a temper and holding a grudge.
  9. He may well get bought out this offseason ... because of his age it would only be 1/3 the remaining contract over twice the term (rather than the usual 2/3 over twice the term) ... $835K for 12 years, saving almost $4M per year over the remaining 6 years of his contract ... it will be interesting to see which team makes him the best offer (be it in terms of $$, term or opportunity to "rehabilitate" his reputation), because more than one will take the chance ... if by some miracle Hughes can rid himself of Dvorak I would not be opposed to the Habs entering that mix for one year, despite what went down between him and Bergevin, and between Bergevin and Dundon.
  10. Obviously ... but former GMs, especially those who "took a team to the finals" an have yet to be "re-cycled" usually/often pop-up in such speculation.
  11. Interestingly (?), Marc Bergevin in not amongst the 8: Mathieu Darche Chris MacFarland Jeff Gorton Ray Whitney Derek Clancey Jason Botterill Eric Tulsky Chris Clark
  12. That is what I guessed ... but in fairness, even that is a s-t-t-r-r-r-e-e-e-e-t-t-t-t-t-c-c-c-c-c-c-h-h-h-h-h-h-h.
  13. This morning on TSN690 Dreger specified that the Habs-Avs hadn't discussed Allen in 10 days to two weeks, but that he could see Allen as a good backup match for Colorado ... as I said above, *** IF *** the Avs can find a 2C (maybe a 3C) elsewhere, then Johansen+ for Allen could make sense as long as saving Colorado the buyout cost is factored in to the "+" along with the differential in utility of the two players.
  14. At his age, he is probably more of an iTunes guy.
  15. He gets full salary on LTIR and since he is out of his ELC (and not on a 35+ contract) he has no bonuses.
  16. There are also players that get pumped-up/dragged-along by better players but don't really "complement" their line-mates.
  17. At least moving Allen would clear up the Ghidorah-Goalie situation and provide an extra forward this season ... in addition to Hughes pulling off possible trade magic this summer, RJ's buyout is not terrible ... $1,333,334 for 24/25 and 25/26 ... which would have to factor into the "sweetener".
  18. Agreed ... the only way I can see it working is if the Avs otherwise obtain a 2/3C and then move Johansen plus "something" for Allen ... Hughes would likely look to move Ryan this summer, ideally for a lesser bad contract that could fill a role next season, or maybe use one of NEXT seasons' retention slots ... but I think he prefers not to use retention slots (this year or next year) unless absolutely necessary ... the Habs still have Gallagher, Anderson and Armia who, I-M-O, ideally need to be moved out before the team gets serious about the playoffs ... although they could just suck-it-up for one more year with Armia.
  19. I understand he is from some podcast ... 😉 But then However, "haven't spoken in days" also indicates that there have been discussions and nothing close could only mean "to being completed", not that the talks have hit "irreconcilable differences" ... other than making the cap work (such an inconsequential, easily surmounted issue 😜), it makes a lot of sense.
  20. As you and @DON both said, Laval makes the most sense ... but if injuries impact recall limits I could settle for him joining the Habs and practicing with the "big boys" on an NHL sized ice-surface ... but I wouldn't want him to play unless absolutely necessary.
  21. No reason to have him even participate in a full practice until training camp.
  22. It may just be an example of a "good hockey guy" not suited to being a GM.
  23. THAT is exactly why I hope for Bergie.
