agree with gorges NOT being captain. he just isn't good enough. i think patches is the guy to captain this team moving forward. very vocal in the locker room. great in front of the cameras and he's one of our core best players. after him id choose markov short term for a few years while subban continues to grow into being the first Black superstar captain in NHL history!!

man... the key to winning trades is getting the best player back. plex would be the best player back in all these trades. we would be the loser in all of them. moving an expiring contract + picks and marginal prospects for a significant player under contract? thats ideally what MB should be looking at. we trade 3+ assets for 1. those are always the trades that are won. id personally like to see a sign and trade for Ott to centre moen and prust. that would give us one helluva 4th line. maybe best in the league and a line that would make you drool in the playoffs.

id love Ott centring prust and moen. that 'd arguably be one of the best fourth lines in all of hockey.

i think that the list of successful WJC goalies significantly outweighs the pogge's of the world.

why we trying to move sideways with a patches/ kane deal? we need to trade for kane or a top 6 without giving up core guys. we want to get to that elite state kane and 4th for bourque. bouillion beaulieau or pateryn and 1st is what id try to do and tweak the deal with picks

PK just won the Norris any defender in the league can play 25 minutes with him and do better then they would with out him.... the only issue we will have with tinordi playing with PK is the substantial raise tinordi will command when his contract is up (see mike komisarek/ andrei the giant). there is more then 20 young defenders in this league logging heavy minutes. dont assume that tinordi isnt ready to partner arguably the best if not top 3 d in the league with subban. its easier to play with talented players then to play with average players. Tinordi has done nothing to show otherwise so far in his progression. 3 game call up... 13 minutes of ice time +3 and even contributed to the goal leading to a win! 5 games in playoffs... played more minutes was placed on the Penalty kill had a fight but finished -3. he should of never been sent down if not for the old "dont burn a year bull" and we all know it!!! he's 6'6" and 210lbs and counting.... he is exactly what the heck we are looking for. give the kid a real chance for success he needs to play in our top 4 on the left with PK and any one lobbying for gorges in that role is crazy i think. tinordi PK Markov emelin** "tough defender" Diaz boullion drewskie nygren* beaulieu* *call up **IR

exactly.. now upgrade that stay at home defender with a bigger tougher stay at home guy! maybe tinordi isnt ready for top 4 minutes yet we wont know until he is given that roll... im just saying gorges occupys a spot in the line up we need to address..

thats because subban carries him...... boullion looked lights out early season when subban first came back from his hold out as well. same with diaz prior to being concussed. any one player will look that much better playing with great players! see chris kuntiz and or mike komisarik

i meant moving forward... gorges is the guy i think we need to upgrade! although he has the heart and is willing to step infront of 100km pucks... he is just unable to clear the net and enforce play around the crease. he's to soft for top 4 minutes and lacks the neccesary skills to lead play out of the back. thats why diaz is the better option on the 3rd pairing with a tough guy. markov and PK both want to dictate play and start our transitions and puck movement. they should run their own lines. if we want a smooth transition for tinordi(lefty), putting him with PK(righty) or markov(lefty) is most definitly our best option. i think tinordi will be much less vulnerable on the ice playing 25min with PK on the right then he will playing 14min with say gorges/ boullion/ diaz (all turn over machines)! Its common sense i think. tinordi showed he was able to play 14-15min in the playoffs plus the penalty kill. 3 months of heavy minutes with our top D is just what the DR ordered till emelin returns. In the meantime addressing the HUGE size debate on the back end with gorges diaz boulion... one needs to be upgraded and gorges is most valuable on the market and is locked up. both boullion & diaz are upcoming UFA's.

dont forget big bad conacher and his tying goal with seconds left to turn the series on its head... man he's a big body! i believe we need a bid nasty defender and a much improved price and our habs will be alright! TINORDI subban markov EMELIN "NASTY D" diaz

agreed, we dont need to move those guys today! what we need to do is sign morrow and jagr then we'll worry about the cap tomorrow

i think recent history shows that Jagr and Morrow are in fact tradeable, very easily i might add.

ahh yes... but, then MB would have to move moen,DD and or Gio for picks or a 2/3 for 1 trade in order to upgrade the lineup or get the salary cap down. we will be a team better situated. we would be sitting in a nice cap position going into next season with money to spend and gally and galchenyuk ready for top 3/ top 6 minutes! roster spots open. UFA's like jagr and morrow on 1 or 2 year deals are no brainers in asset mangement sign UFA briere, jagr, morrow. thats 3 definite no questions asked tradable assets. opens door for trades to upgrade the team or sell back for more picks.

bourque plex jagr patches briere DD galchenyuk eller gallgher morrow white prust moen parros gio**(injured) bold= not small seems to me like a pretty damn good offense... a little mix of everything and a team that could with stand even a few injuries. as long as both jagr and morrow can be signed with no perks like NM clauses we should spend the 4.8 on the 2 guys... why not? its like buying draft picks

agreed i still cant believe guys are calling Jagr washed up... he's +40 and still playing well... sure he no longer is the best player in the world but he is still a damn good hockey player and one of the toughest guys to get a puck off of. there is zero cons to not having one of the all time greats on your team even if for 1 year! leBlanc is not even close to being a poor mans bergeron. patrice is one of the best centers in hockey and team canada's #2!

were soft and small on the back end as stated. not as soft as some people suggest up front... remember that soft and small are 2 different adjectives. gallagher is small not soft. briere is small not soft. i just think 1 more move like a possesion guy like jagr or a gritty prust like player like morrow and the team is much more balanced up front then we think! on the back end though serious work needs to be done
