He couldn't be worse than OB is right now, and he has a cannon. It would bring our PP up, but he could never be called a 4th d.

So holding your wrist is worse than laying on your back and writhing like a gut shot dog? Kicking and screaming and doing the floppy chicken for a full 20 or 30 seconds, then proceeding to smile on the bench, and play out the rest of the game?

It's definitely nice to be dabating about a guy who has .7 pts per game and his spot on the top 2 lines. What a great thing to have to talk about. I do have high expectations of Lats, as do others, and I think that is why they want to see him have more impact. I'm content to watch him play his game, exactly where he is and how he is playing as long as we are winning. But I would LOVE to see him dominate the forecheck and become hated by the other team for being a force.

I don't think the lines should be changed at all. Nor do I think that D'ago or anyone else should be called up. I completely agree that Sergie was affected by his brother's hit, and that if we should be getting on someone about their performance, it should be him. But I don't see the love affair with Lats. He's a pretty good player, who is working on his game. I have seen most of the other players on this team have a major impact on the outcome of the game with their individual efforts. These players were guys like Kosto and Begin last playoffs. Sergie and Andre. Lappierre. (If there was a language issue, I would be getting on his case, but I never have. He plays his role very well and brings energy to every game.) All I'm saying is that I have never seen this game changing impact from him. I see him as a top liner competing for a spot with guys like Lang(huge chemistry with Kovy), I know he's a centre, but lines can be juggled around for chemistry, and I can't see him playing with Lats. Both are too slow. Sergie (non issue as his recent performance is poor), and Higgins. Regarding 2nd assists, Plekanec had major impact on his line consistently, as does Higgins. As stated by an earlier poster, maybe those hits are makiing some room for Koivu and Tanguay. I'm sure they are. As for Lats...No man crush here...He's a pretty good player. That's it so far. I'm looking forward to retracting this post and eating some crow. Can't wait to see him as a force.

He's on pace for 60 2nd assists. He does need to pick it up. I'm not saying that he needs to be kicked off the line. Don't mess with it if it's working, but I agree with some of Koivu's thoughts. Higgins has a much greater impact on the line than Lats does. Lats takes himself out of offensive postion to get hits in. He still needs work.

Komi is the best future captain in my opinion. I love Higgins too, but I just think that Komi is such an intense presence on the ice that it rubs off on his team mates.

The boys better fight for some points int he next 5 games, because November is gonna be tough.

Good point about attendance figures. U.S. attendance could drop off as the pain from this crash sinks in.

I love how every one of these type of threads gets hijacked into a Ribeiro thread. Compare, then move on guys. I believe Grabs was the best deal for us at the time. We'll have to see how it develops in the fututre. We couldn't take a run at the cup with him, but we can with Lang, so I think it's still a good deal

The Canadian dollar shouldn't stay down too long. American investors are propping up the US dollar temporarily. I expect that in the next year, you will see commodities such as gold, silver, and oil skyrocket due to inflation from all of the money being printed randomly and with no backing. When that happens, Our dollar should follow oil and go up. Then we can pay for Gaborik.

I have a feeling we will see him on the team next year. I don't think Bob's gonna be able to sign all those free agents next year, and we should see some room on the roster.
-
It will be interesting to watch our power play develop this year. So far, it has not looked great. Partly, i think, because Kovy is trying too hard. He needs to find those passes like he was before. He is trying to do too much by himself again. We are missing that quick slap shot from the point. Someone needs to start slapping that puck so there are more options. Otherwise Weber may have to come up and show the boys how to slap shoot.

Chips looked great last night. I just love the fact that we have so much depth..

Nice how Dung Jeery said it wasn't a head shot. if it was a European hitting a Canadian he would have been all, "Typical cheap European Headshot!!" How was that not a headshot Dung, you ignorant blowhard sonofabitch.
-
I don't know man. We'll have to wait and see, but I would bet Kovy will be signed. His skill is amazing, and the youngsters are learning so much from him.

I believe that it hurts the league in the long run to have great young players who cannot play because the team they play on is deep for their position. Shremp is an imediate example that I think of. However, If someone in the league wanted them, they could always trade for him. It would be nice to see these guys play on a weaker team that could use the talent. Pisani should have been in the league years ago, and I'm sure Detroit has players in the system that could have been 1st or 2nd liners on a weak team. Instead they dilute the team with people who should be in the AHL. I don't know what the solution is, but it sucks for the guys waiting in the wings. I guess teh cream rises to the crop and if they are really that good, they will be traded. I guarentee if Patch performs in the AHL, teams will ask for him in trades if he doesn't get brought up next year.

I am so pissed off at RDS right now. I friggen waited to watch canadiens express and they had the program guide backwards.

Chips will play when there are injuries. Begin usually misses 20 games a year, so he should get 10 or 15 of those

I agree. I almost wonder if it wouldn't be better to have Lats stay on the 2nd and Higgins play with Lang. Lang has good finish and Sergie and Higgins could work hard to feed him as well as shoot. As far as Lat's skating, I have seen a vast improvement this year. -

I remember last year when the team was ahead by 3 or 4 goals, they would try to slow the game down, and we would end up giving them a come back. It happened several times. This team has to stay on the gas. Respect or no respect -

I get RDS HD in Alberta. Shaw cable -
Probably more like Chips and Higgins, or more.

Confirmed my tix today. I'll see Vinny and Ovechkin in Dec this year. Guess I'll wait till next year to see the Pens, unless we face them in the playoffs this year.
