I've been watching the Habs in French for so long that my grade 11 French actually helps me follow converstaions quite often. I do get lost sometimes, but I am able to pick up enough vocabulary to follow it quite well. I even listen ..... RYDER ET LE BUT!!!!!!!!!! -

No call on high stick. -
I am in the same position as you. I remember and love Lafleur based more on childhood idolization, than on rational memory, but watching Nilan beat the crap out of Kurt Fraser or Richer crank out a 50 goal season, or the Roohah chants in 86 are a lot more clear and a lot more rational. Even still childhood idol wins. I still love Lafleur to this day. His pic sits in my bedroom. It's wierd, you'd think it would be Roy. I hope the team can get another flying frenchman.
-
I would be very surprised to see Huet traded. I wouldn't want Richards. 12 goals for how many million?
-
I was born in 73, but can remember watching Lafleur with my dad. He was my hero at 6 years old and it continued. It's funny what you can remember when you are young and impressionable.

I think that Dan Boyle is about the best big name we could bring in. Hossa...no thanks. Sundin...can't see Leafs giving him away for cheap. Tanguay...Set up man not a finisher like we need. Boyle...Holy Shit those Habs are strong defensively.

I can't believe I have to work tonight. Caught parts of this game on CJAD. Amazing effort. Let the goaltending threads begin! -
This is the same horseshit that was going around last year with Kovy. Now everyone can't say enough about him. Koivu has been great for so many years for this team. He has been slow this year. Who knows maybe his wife is having an affair, maybe he's hurt or aching all of the time. I don't know. It definitely doesn't help that Ryder and Higgins disappeared too this year. This is the first year since Koivu was made Captain, that if he plays poorly, the team can still win. He was the backbone of the team for 10 years. You may argue that it wasn't much of a team, so the backbone need not be that strong to hold it up, but that isn't his fault. I hope that Gainey brings in a Canadian winger and sets up a co-captaincy like Buffalo last year, so some of the pressure is deflected from Saks. That said, he appears to be getting shifty again and using his quickness to his benefit, so hopefully there will be a payoff on the scoresheet. The reason I wonder if he isn't hurt is that he doesn't seem to take the hit to make the play like he used to.

There are players I would sooner see go than the Cube. I like him a lot more on D than Striet or Dandy. Even though Streit has his PP upside, I think I would rather see him go than the Cube. Plus I hate to say this, and I know I'm gonna catch some flack, but Teams with lots of Canadians and a Canadian Captain Win Cups. I know it's a Cherry quote, but it's true. I honestly hope the Cube is on the team next year.
-
You hate Koivu? I guess I must now hate you.
-
I thought that Cote goal against Price was a little fishy. Good thing Max got the insurance. I though Lappiere played very well tonight. Noone really noticed him, but he drew penalties, ans was aggressive all night. Cube was a beast too.
-
Ya I laughed when he wired it. I was like, "Well, there's cube's goal for the year."
-
I sort of thought that too, but it was so close, that you can't fault the ref for the call. The non call on Smith for instegating was a little suspicious, but again, Begin threw down fast. Penalty was killed, and one flyers Defenseman seeing stars. It's all good.
-
If you watch Richard's blade, he faked the shot, then turned his blade and faked the pass, then took the shot, which was a lazer. I don't blame Price for that goal at all.
-
In Nagano, Hasek outcheated Roy. Evertime a player skated past him, he held his hand like he was a gutshot dog. He whined and dove and the refs gave him his way. I believe that Hasek's disgusting antics and the penalties which they created won the gold for the Czechs. I have hated Hasek ever since that night. He reminded me of why I refuse to be a soccer fan. All of the antics leave a bad taste in my mouth. I don't care if it works, it is dishonorable and pathetic!
-
Haha... I noticed that too. Must be the steroids.
-
Not the worst seats either. I sat in 330, AA and thought they were not bad. Pretty hard to see the play on the other end though. Has anybody tried binoculaurs up there, or is it too hard to follow the play?
-
I hope Komi or O'Byrne hit him so hard tonight that his spleen gets flipped into the stands. That would be a trophy for some lucky fan.
-
I would expect to see Huet in nets tomorrow. Great game by Price tonight. Nice win. The full 2 minute 5 on 3 was intense.
-
That would be so sweet. Lose their spot in the draft. Get all the Laff fans excited and let them down hard. Nice I still relish the Islanders win over them last year. Laff fans had 12 hours to gloat and then it was tee-off time. It was the most satisfying non-Habs game I can remember in a long time. Ahhhh......memories
