I didn't search for the thread, but a few months ago, there was a thread about who would be the Habs' best player. I stated that Koivu would be their best player, because, He Is There Best Player. I'm just doing a little gloating. The fact is, when Koivu plays well, the Habs win. You can take any other player out of the picture, and we will do OK, but if Saku is out or not performing, the Habs lose. End of story.

Ya, I think that would be a safe assumption. It's a tough decision though. You have to play your hot goalie. That is Halak right now.

There are so many of these match ups, that I don't know who to cheer for. The good news is that finally, one of our rivals has to lose. Hopefully it's not a three point game. There are a few of these matchups in the near future, where the one of the rivals has to lose.

OK enought already. I haven't posted on this subject, because frankly I don't care, but Bobby and some others are whipping a dead freakin horse. Even if he did say that stuff about racism, get over it. At this point, the Habs are better with Kovy than without him. He scored two goals last night and that's all it takes for me. He's forgiven for what he did or did not say. Politics doesn't win hockey games. Goals do. If he plays he stays, if he doesn't he'll be down the road. End of story! Let's move on. Bobby and other gossipers... all replies will be ignored by me. I would suggest others do the same.

I wish I could get an pic of the guy pretending to tee off after the Sabres had them beat. I loved that. -

In your avatar, Kovy looks like a toothless old man. -
I definitely take back what I said earlier in this thread. Kosty has earned a position on the top 2 lines. I was definitely wrong about that. I would still love to see Grabovski get called up too though. He's got serious freakin wheels.

The name of the place is HALAK IT LIKE THAT! I could see that on a sign at the Bell centre soon. I don't know man, I think Koivu is pretty friggen awesome at the shoot out too. -

I can't get the game on nhl radio or cjad -
Nice, so those goals help us how? Perzhogin is good on the third line. He HAS been given lots of ice time. I realize that he has potential, but who would you send down to the third line so he could get a chance on the first? The first line has been getting points lately, even though Koivu is not at his best. Leave the first line alone.

Ya but I say send him back down when Kovy comes back. I liked the team in St. Louis. They seemed more defensively responsible. The forecheck was great too. I would leave Murray in the line up. He has looked good out there grinding lately. Lapierre has impressed me most out of all the rookies this year. Can you say future Captain? -
Two things have to happen for us to make the playoffs. We have to have good goaltending consistently and Koivu has to play awesome every night. It doesn't seem to matter how the rest of the team performs. As long as Koivu performs, we win. I don't know why, but when he plays well, we win. End of story.

If Kosty keeps up his play, Perez will have a hard time getting a spot on the team. -
I agree that Dandnault shoud go, but I love the Cube. I hope he finds the same form he had last year though.
-
Good point, but I still think Grabovski should play instead of Kosty.
-
You are right about that. The bottom line is that the only time these guys work hard is when Koivu plays well. I just don't think that watering down the line is the solution.
-
Why do you guys worhip these two? The best I've seen of Perzogin is on a defensive role with Bonk. Other than that, he takes crap penalties and has very little finish. He has potential, but potential doesn't win hockey games. Performance does. As for Kosty (Yawn) Much deserved 1st line exposure? Are you kidding? He' fast. That's all I've seen of him is speed. I realize he needs more time, but Grabovski showed heart from day one, and made several dangerous plays. This was when the team was playing like crap. As far as I'm conserned Kosty and Perezhogin have some potential. That's it. To say they should be on the first or second line is silly.

Who made the right decision-Gainey or Kevin Lowe?

2 prospects and a 1st rounder for a 2 month rental is anything but garbage. I live in Alberta and I love Smitty. It broke my heart to see him leave, but as I said before, he has never had a point per game season. He can't have too many more good seasons of getting beat up in front of the net either. He has the heart of a lion. Which goes a long way, but this isn't Wayne freakin Gretzky!
