  1. Kovalev dropping his gloves and trying to get into it...lol...frustration has set in.
  2. It's hard for me to hate on the Laffs (wow, never thougth Id utter that phrase) as much as I'm hating on Koivu right now. Because I'm looking at them hanging tough in that game against the Canes, and have to grudgingly give them just a teeny weeny smidgen of respect. Do we ever!
  3. This team needs a major shake-up...something that will snap them out of their indifference out there. I'd like to see Koivu stripped of his 'C'. Seriously. It's the only major shocking move left available, now that the trade deadline has passed. And I'd also like to add, he's earned a demotion with the way he has played.
  4. No, the useless 'finnish' wearing the 'C' is enough...no more, please!
  5. Koivu just makes it so hard for me to let him out of the doghouse
  6. YIPES...Ovechkin just made Komisarek look like a beer-leaguer...good thing we have a cushion.
  7. I can't remember the last time we battered a team into calling an early timeout.
  8. Well, with a goal, they're not useless anymore. Maybe the two of them are going to improve from here on out...
  9. Putting Koivu with Kovalev is a terrible idea. Why saddle the most talented player on our team with Koivu, who is absolutely useless right now? At this point, if I'm Kovalev, I'd much rather have Ribeiro as my center. For that matter, I'd much rather have Plekanec as my center.
  10. I'd love to see Begin get rewarded with more goals for all the hard work he does.
  11. Guys that need to step up: 1. Koivu - he's useless right now, so it's like we don't have a decent offensive center. 2. Ryder - completely useless unless he's scoring...he has no other skills. 3. Gainey - he's a terrible coach so far...lacking the balls to leave guys who aren't putting out a good effort on the bench in favor of guys who are working hard. Good coaches aren't afraid to bench even their biggest star, if that's what is best for the team. Gainey needs to stop coddling Koivu and Ryder.
  12. No matter how bad Aebischer is, the Theodore trade was still a great one: Even if Aebischer never does play well: we got rid of a very expensive bum and got a much cheaper bum in return, allowing us to free up the cap room to operate.
  13. Okay, Bob Gainey is clearly an incompetent coach. He kept running Koivu and Ryder out there shift after shift when they were clearly having YET ANOTHER night where the two of them were pretty much useless. Abby should have been on the bench to start the second period, after letting in two creampuff goals and flopping around on the ice like a bass in the bottom of a boat more times than I could count. That game was painful to watch. If this keeps up, they'll have to scrap the 'Three Stars' selections and replace it with the 'Three Bums' selection. For tonight's game: La troisieme derriere, the third bum....Michael Ryder. La deuxieme derriere, the second bum...Saku Koivu. Et la premiere derriere, the first bum...David Aebischer!!! We're very fortunate that Atlanta lost tonight as well. Bob Gainey has to grow a pair of balls and get the courage to leave guys that aren't effective on the bench, no matter how well-paid/popular they may be. Give the extra ice time to a guy like Begin, who works hard every shift...not to guys who are coasting on past accomplishments.
  14. If Huet doesn't start tonight, it's another vote on the 'Bob doesn't know WTF he's doing' side of the checklist as far as I'm concerned. Huet has been red-hot...it's risky to let him sit and cool off.
  15. I think having Begin run into him all night will draw some retaliation penalties from Crosby.
  16. Great job...I agree with most of them except: B+ for Koivu??? Must be grading on a curve...
  17. That stuff you been smokin' must be dynamite! I do think the Habs will win tho, thanks for big games for Souray and Kovalev. I also think either Begin or Higgins will come through...both are due.
