  1. Kevin Adams says your taught to battle for the puck, so I guess kicking the goalie out of the way to get room for your shot is what he meant. Brind'Amour looked like Chuck Norris on that play, legs flying everywhere.
  2. No need to panic. One period of uncertainty and bad bounces, the Habs will calm down. The game is still open. Carolina can be stopped, they have their moments but haven't dictated anything yet, no domination. The only thing I'd do at this point is tell Higgins to chill out and know that he's a great player without Koivu, looks like he's squeezing his stick big-time, impressed with Ryder though, he's picking it up. Can't get over how quick everybody's turning, playoffs are different than the regular season, stick with your team!!
  3. People get spoiled with a 2 game winning-streak I guess???
  4. Wow. Can't believe Gainey's going with Kost. Awesome, let's get him hungrier for the NHL.
  5. Well, putting Bonk there doesn't screw up the rest of the lines, but I don't think it will help Higgins and Ryder. Higgins thrives with Koivu, they're like two kids playing tag, one's it and the other chases him in, their dual speed alone is the reason that line usually scores. Bonk doesn't have that.
  6. http://forums.habsworld.net/index.php?showtopic=6479 similar discussions, I love us Habs fans!!!!
  7. With no Koivu, expect a hole in our offence. Do you see us having more than three lines without him? Chipchura's gonna step in, first NHL action, no problem? He'd be a 7 minute 4th liner, like all of the other guys waiting at this point. Perez hasn't seen PP time yet, you think Kost will automatically get inserted in over him? I understand your train of thought, but the Habs don't have the current weapons to replace Koivu. Guys who have already been stepping it up, need to do it more-so, guys like Bulis, Perez, Zednik, Ribs, Higgins, and Ryder. Those will be the only guys who will be able to make up for Koivus' absence.
  8. Higgins/Pleks/Ryder Perez/Ribs/Kovalev Bulis/Bonk/Zed Sundstrom/Murray/Downey I think a key is putting Pleks with Ryder, Ryder relies on Koivu more than anybody and Pleks is the next closest center style-wise. Perez back with Kovalev, he's been awesome too, maybe back with Kovalev would put him over the top? Those Slovaks and Czech have played good together before The 4th line helps mix up our penalty killing and can still play regular shifts.
  9. I see Downey, Ferland or a 7th Dman before any other young guys. Especially without Begin.
  10. Injuries and non-calls, I'll be 27 going on 72 if this series keeps it up.
  11. Just the fact that Markov didn't tolerate J.P. Dumont taking a few whacks with his stick at Bonks legs while he was on the ice with the puck under him. It was how instant he responded with physicality's, it's part of the pack mentality the thread-starter was referring too. I know Markov's awesome, I've watched him since he's arrived, but he used to be quite an embellish-er. Physicality's used to be the last attribute you'd think of when thinking about Markov, now Aaron Downey he ain't, but at least you know if it gets tough he'll stay with the play and take or give his licks, no more diving and killing the play!
  12. I knew things were getting better in a team sense, but what clinched it for me was Andrei Markov starting a scrum in Buffalo. I don't think I need to explain why.
  13. Any evidence of the Fu-Machus yet? I started growing my "playoff" beard a week before the playoffs started, then it looked like there was a possibility of no playoffs, so I started referring to it as an "elimination" beard. Anyway, I'm waiting to carve the Fu, I look like Late-20's-Loser-Wolf. With the 6-1 score I'm afraid to change anything but will roll with the Habs facial hair decisions!
  14. Hey All! I really ragged on Frankie B. all year, but his shot blocking is pretty good and that asset will get more important as the series rolls on. I'm interested to see how the Canes come back, I haven't seen choke goal tending like that in a while. Anyway, I can't wait for tomorrow, lets see the Habs stick to the game plan. I wouldn't write Gerber off, he's put up huge games since being in Anaheim, the capability is obviously there. Go Habs Go! Just play your game!
