Wow that is big news. Tampa has money now that they broke up the big three. And they will draft Stamkos... Almost makes you want to cheer for them as a closet fan.

I was thinking Gainey would trade or try to sign a centre (Sundin etc...) and draft best player available. You are absolutely correct CaliHabsFan. It is a constant trading and rebuilding or whatever they call it that is killing them. Either rebuild or build upon your youth. do not change your mind in the middle of the process....

I dont think even they can screw up this draft. Too many good players to get it wrong. But then again they have "Draft Smaft" drafting for them so maybe they will trade the pick with a roster player to get a bonafide Ontarian over the hill star looking to retire at the cottage next season.

You obviously read what you wanted to read and do not understand why I used the quotes. Einstein may have sought something, but in the end did not find the truth as many of us see it. I knew a brilliant scientist who lived next door to me that was really dumb in some things. Ever see a guy shovel the snow in his driveway with a garden rake.... What you define as life discoveries by Einstein I catagorize as science. If you think life is just Einsteins theorys and ramblings that is your right. I would challenge you to go out and discover what is really important though. My suggestion would be Family, friendships, personal goals. I think you would be amazed at things you would discover that you thought you already knew. I find keeping an open mind about life and why we are here helps keep my emotions in check when posting on boards. I find this board interesting but the different views on subjects here can really go off topic. There is one fact that most would agree on. It is apparent to many on here that Danis is a fan favourite. I think he is an OK goalie that will be replaced by someone in free Agency. A veteran goalie paired with Desjardins will be the tandem. If Danis had a stellar year then yes I think Gainey would have tried to sign him. My comment about shedding a tear is in not to say I hate the guy; just a thought that by the time the AHL starts next season I will have moved on. I know some wont agree and that is their right to state a differing thought.

As usual you make sense. It is easy to cheer for Danis as a Habs fan, when he is gone nobody here will shed a tear....

Coates + wilson = Burke which = Stanley Cup. :puke: :puke: :puke: Leaf fans are gluttons for punishment. Petty rules the roost and will mess up any chance at good management. Not sure how many Leaf fans read these posts, but they should really look at another hockey club to cheer for. The Leaf organization is the worst in pro sports even though they just made two good hirings. In the 70's when Habs were winning and Leaf media was 1/100th of what it is today; Leafs were a franchise that was close except for some thing called Ballard. Now he lives on in Petty.... Poor Leafy fans, I would almost feel sorry for them if they were not such arrogant snots and their media not so biased. But that is just me.

Being a Leaf is a Red Flag on any Resume! 1. Underachieving. 2. Consistantly losing important games. 3. Ultimate choke team in sports. 4. Retirement community for underachievers. 5. Overhyped athletes (Sundin is one, good offensively but useless in his end) 6. Have/will never reach Cup finals since 67. 7. Coasters and whiners from coaching on down with a defeatist attitude. How does the Habs change this culture of self destruction of x-leafs in short order? 1. Have the new guy (Sundin) humm the new Hockey Night in RDS song. 2. Show him what a champion is by giving him pictures of past Habs winning teams. 3. Offer him a paycheque with CH logos all over it. 4. Give him a copy of the Rocket video. 5. Show him the money! After Habs and Avs were out, I only watched the 2nd/3rd period of game 5 of the finals. Am I a statistic or should I just go back to sleep... :zzz:

I am sure glad Gainey looks at the future and has built the backend of this team. Unlike the laughs, Habs should be good in net and Defense for many years. The young forwards are showing their talent and someone like Sundin will help them gain more confidence with his exceptional offensive skills. Sundin would only be another brick in the road to continous success.

Fletcher is going to go after whatever free agents are available and buyout raycrap or F..errr..Tucker. They are pushing hard to challenge for 9th place!

This is a good start to the off season. This guy is young and should develop into a good two way player. I like watching hockey players that care about their roster spot and try hard to make plays.

Holy moly how did I get that mixed up. We were talking about goalies and Desharnais name came up and I just screwed up the play.... Sorry about my mixup. I have never looked at desjardins height stats or weight etc....
