Well, I guess we'll agree to disagree Kozed. I'd rather Ryder on all counts - at least he has the *potential* to do something useful out there.
-
Dandenault is a zero-trick pony. I don't care how many cups he's won with Detroit... he's just not effective anymore - as a forward or a defenseman. Ryder has shown he's even better defensively than Dandenault (as a forward). So I'd rather have him out there with his one-trick (in hopes that *something* happens) and his fairly even plus/minus, than Dandenault with his zero tricks and consistently below zero plus/minus.
-
Ryder is not worse than Dandenault....
-
yeah I realize it will awaken intensity on our side too, but I dunno... I got a feeling it will do more harm than good. I'd rather play a passive Flyers team than an aggressive Flyers team any day.
-
They don't care for the the hard, dirty, physical going... the series with the Bruins showed that.
-
I like Kosto's work so far, but I wish he hadn't poked Timmonen in the face last night. Why rile the Flyers up, they were playing like kittens. Now they'll just go after our skill guys in revenge. Wasn't a smart move.

that is funny

We can't seem to get consistent offensive flow going. 2 offensive lines, the Begin line, and a useless line. We have one shift of decent offensive pressure, then a shift of nothing, then back again. We need 3 offensive lines... and the Flyers are a perfect candidate to do that against - they don't trap like Boston. Carbo should've done something about the Lapierre line for tonights game. He better do something about it for next game, I don't want to see Dandenault out there for the next game. I'm not as down on Grabovski as you guys are. He's young and he pouted once, but I don't think that calls for a 1-way ticket to Siberia. Dandenault sooked once this year too, and nobody called for his exile. I wouldn't mind seeing Grabovski play this series... I think we need some more creativity in the lineup. I think we played some of our best and most dominating hockey of the season down the stretch when we went with 3 offensive lines and I'd like to see that again. I was thinking the same thing as MMPL and DriveFor25 - I'm not impressed with the Lapierre line at all... I think both he and Dandenault could sit and bring in Grabovski and one of Latendresse/Ryder. You could leave Streit with them. Philly doesn't seem to play as tight and physical a game as the Bruins so I think that move could work. Higgins -Koivu -Kovalev A. Kost- Plex- S. Kost Lats/Ryder- Grab- Streit Begin - Smol - Kosto Flyers would have some difficulty covering those 3 offensive lines.

The Flyers group of forwards DO look good on paper...but I think there's big chemistry problems there - too many mercenaries brought in. Something just does not click with them. Bring 'em on.

wait, I've just been handed something .... Plekanec' condition has been upgraded to "Little Boy"!

Bruins' defense is playing over their heads... slugs like Dennis Wideman and Shane Hnidy can't keep up this kind of defensive play forever. They have to break down sometime. -

I'm really surprised by how invisible and ineffective a player Glen Murray has become.... he used to be pretty good. Ah well, good for us. -
I'd love to have the old organ back. That's something I'd sign a petition for.
-
you're absolutely right Markierung
-
:puke: That's something you'd hear in an American rink. How about something instead that WOULDN'T make Rocket Richard and other departed Habs greats roll over in their graves?

LOL

Have we finally arrived or are we playing over our heads?

Ottawa doesn't scare me at all neither. Don't see how they could be our "worst possible scenario". Just what InsaneHabs said... and now they're weaker than ever without Alfredsson and Fisher. Martin Lapointe on the 1st line and Shean Donovan on the 2nd line - what more could you ask for. Sens were a one line team before Alfie and Fisher went out - now they are very fragile. Throw in the crappy goaltending, shaky defense (thanks Commodore!) and I have no problem meeting them in the 1st round. Everyone wants to play Boston and I would have agreed a week or so ago - that is until Begin broke a bone in Marc Savard's back with that crosscheck. Because of that you just know that the Bruin goons (Chara and Reich) would be hellbent on headhunting our skill guys. We don't need that. Ottawa or Philly are the teams I want to play 1st round. -
I like the 3 offensive lines idea, always did... but I'm not sure how 2 snipers (Ryder and Latendresse) are going to work on the same line. Could be a defensive nightmare too. I wouldn't mind swapping Sergei K for Ryder... so you'd then have: - KoKoPlex line - Latendresse, Koivu, Sergei K (some more creativity, grit, speed, and defensive awareness with Sergei K here) - Ryder, Grabovski, Higgins To me, that looks a little more balanced out. As the game goes on, I'm hoping Carbo will see this and do it.

As long as he wins games as JMMR said, I don't care. But personally, I don't really like it. I know he's a westerner, and he likes rodeo and country music, but he's playing in Montreal... not Calgary. I just figure he should show a little more respect for the Canadiens tradition. No rodeos in Montreal. What if Price was from Newfoundland? Would it be okay for him to picture of a codfish, or a fisherman, or a bottle of screech on his mask? It just doesn't fit. But hey, just keep winning Carey.

Look at the picture of Kovalev on one knee in front of Plekanec on the front page of RDS - hehehe. "Mammy, how I love ya, how I love ya, Mammy".
-
Tanguay only played 2:44 of the game tonight vs Minnesota. Did he get hurt or did they yank him because of a sudden trade?
-
3-1 Bulldogs, final. Grabovski with 2!
-
I don't think I'd trade Plekanec for Brad Richards straight up - even in a cap-less world.
