  1. Any good Dad wants to help out...its hard to disassociate from your child when they are crying at night regardless of what room you are sleeping in, I know I can hear if my kids even move around in their sleep and they are older now. I was up constantly when they were babies. the margin of error is so small in the NHL if you are off by even a little bit your not going to have the same numbers.
  2. what do you guys think it would cost to get Valteri Nichuskin? he seems to be kind of stuck on the third line in Dallas. Would they go for an offer that would help them in a tough central division? Some combination of Pleks, Markov, Emelin, Weiss, Byron, DSP and prospects? Maybe Pleks, Weiss and a prospect? I think they just lost Spezza to a concussion so they may be looking for some help at center.....I dont know just spitballing here.
  3. although I hate to tank, It would be good to get assets for Pleks.... maybe a Lefthanded top 4 defenceman?
  4. I surprised that no one has said this yet but I am pretty sure that Pacioretty is struggling this year because of his new born son. I have two kids and understand how much mental fatigue there is in the first year of having a baby. Up all hours of the night, not eating properly, dealing with a bitchy wife. Just being tired all the time. That could make the difference between finishing a play or not. If this is really the problem It will take him time to adjust. But if I'm not mistaken I think Carey's new wife is pregnant. so....
  5. Just Do Something already!!!! I'm kinda hoping we make a go for Ladd. He could be had for a pick and prospect. Maybe Drouin and Ladd, I'm sure one of them can play the right side.....on no I'm going crazy but imagine that line Drouin--Galchenyuk--Ladd
  6. He did really well actually, he led a very mediocre team to the conference finals. (This was a year or two before we swept them out of the first round) Well it depends on what kind of coach you want, if you want a coach that sticks to the game plan even if it is obviously not working then Therrien is your guy. The system that Therrien employs calls for his players to skate, alot. (Backchecking, forechecking, and pressure all over the ice). Its a great system for a month or two, but is simply unsustainable over the entire season. That is why this team is fading now and has faded in the second/third round of the playoffs in the last two years. I once heard Babcock say that this system is very hard on the players speaking specifically to Montreal. But if you would like some creativity and a coach that tries to get his players motivated by understanding them, then Boucher is not a bad Idea. Everytime Bouchers name gets brought up some mentions the 1-3-1 and that game against Philly. Say what you will but it worked. I should qualify this by saying that I don't like the 1-3-1 system either but it just speaks to his ability to think outside the box. I remember many positive interviews from players about Boucher and his coaching style, he is a coach that player like to play for....maybe its time for that kind of coach. just because I'm advocating for Boucher right now doesn't mean he is the only other coach out there. I'm just saying we need a change and could do a lot worse.
  7. although I think its time for Therren to go, I just dont see it happening until the off season. I would go for Guy Boucher personally. Time to get some young blood in the coaches chair
  8. Drouin is probably available. What is it going to take to get him from Tampa? A first, a second and Sherbak?
  9. Pacioretty --Galchenyuk--McCarron yes please!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Had to go back to the 4th page to find this thread....something I have never done before....kinda feels like a coming of age thing. But with all the callups and line shuffling going on I thought it might be relevant to bring this one back. I like the use of the teams St. Johns depth its really a nice thing to see, but lost in all of this is the team actually on the verge of struggling for the first time this season. This makes me ask a few questions about who is playing with who. Such as: When will Galchenyuk get a shot with Pacioretty? Is it time for Tinordi to get a look? If the callups fall short of expectations what is the first move Bergevin makes? what do you guys think?
  11. I'd give Semin one more shot at the second line. Tell him he has to prove he belongs...if not waive him and call up Holloway or Hudon until Kassian is ready to go. I still like Kassian as a player and think he would be good riding shotgun on Galchenyuk's wing. He can control the puck down low and makes good passes
  12. hahahahaha that Both those commercials are great....I love the Bergevin,Petry one. I think its great that our team has those kind of characters.
  13. I couldn't watch this game.....but I noticed that the second line was held off the score sheet again. did they look dangerous?
  14. perhaps someone showed up with unexpected injuries.
  15. not a big fan of Skinner....DD and Andrigetto
  16. Good point, At least it would have to be a center....maybe a yet unproven young kid with good potential....Barkov? Although I doubt Florida goes for that.
  17. For Kopitar....Gallagher, Beaulieu, and a 2nd.....too much
  18. Its not a question of who scores more points right now that will determine this decision. As MB is fond of saying "its all about balance".....and right now we have too many NHL caliber center men and not one of them is a first line center. The only one with any potential to reach that status is Galchenyuk. you have to ask some questions Can a trade be made to make the team better with one of the other centers we have? Will Galchenyuk develop into the center we need if playing on the wing? Who is the most expendable? if there is a team out there right now that is willing to give up a good but not great prospect or a 2nd round pick for Desharnais you make the deal, simply because you may never have that opportunity again. I'm not bashing him, I like him as a player but on this team he is expendable, we have lots of younger players in St.Johns that will be able to contribute for a fraction of his cost. plus how sweet would this lineup be Patches-Pleks-Gallagher Semin-Galchenyuk-Kassian (if this works it could be great) DSP-Eller-Larose Plug-Plug-Weiss Hudon, McCarron, Sherbak, and Carr get the injury call ups
  19. I dont think that Chucky is a good fit for the top line but I really think that he can pull off 2nd line Center duties, especially with better wingers. the best chance he has at that is if Desharnias is no longer with the team
