  1. Yes. I was always too poor sharpen my skates...(or too much of cheapskate lol) I only sharpen them once in a blue moon and they never asked me for the oil add on. They have those auto skate sharpeners but I never trust them...now that I have no skates and I am not so much a cheapskate lol I will buy new skates and keep them sharp. I will even try some oils lol and will report back here
  2. if water acts as a lubricant for your skates to make you skate faster, can we use other oil or water based lubricants on the blade to increase skating speed?
  3. Few trades are done in the "My New NHL 2" Habs are unlikely to trade I think...only MAYBE...ufa ryder...at deadline?
  4. He was going through the camp (Semi) injured no?
  5. Was I serious about future road trips? Yes I would love to go on road trips to see the habs, im a massive habs fan and would love to go see the habs away from home, it all would be a wonderful experience...
  6. Thanks a lot JMMR, I think I may have seen that goal in the tsn broadband highlights...
  7. Angelo Esposito is not french. He is Canadian..and an Anglophone...who happens to speak french as well...
  8. Ahhh yes thank you, but they will show the games live? AND archive them ?
  9. Hey guys I read somewhere that, rds was gonna show all the habs games free online? I might have misread or misunderstood (long day) can anyone confirm? Secondly google had a section where it would upload all the hockey games from all the nhl teams it would be a few games delay but you could always watch the games and it would all archived...I can not seem to find that anymore...even my old bookmark to it takes me to just simple google video...whats up? Thanks in advance guys for any info...
  10. I watched it too...I am a junkie for habs news like that So I guess it was not soo bad for me after all...
  11. Um...It is possible he will mostly play forward or have a fringe role as a utility player? We have a lot of depth on D and a lot of up and coming prospects at both D and the forward positions...can Streit really handle all that internal competition...I for one as a habs fan hope that the internal competition Gainey is doing for this club will make players strive for their top production etc
  12. Thanks a lot BTH for that report : ) Was very happy to hear about Price and Lahiti.
  13. Do keep us posted on what you see : )
  14. Everyone hear hopes, or a better word..wishes for the best...My expectations may be low, or conservative, but that may be my general philosophy in life...low expectations, will mean, higher pleasure because the chances are expectations exceed your predictions...etc... More directly... I believe it is possible but not very likely a "kid" will put up 50pts. I would be satisfied and consider a success if our kids attain my enamoured 20 20 status...20g + 20a for 40pts...This of course depends on ice time and the general direction of the team ( 20+ mins per game of penalty kill on avg absolutely KILLS the "kids" player development...because we are always on the PK using our PK killers and not our kids on 5 v 5 hockey...for them to develop and gain experience...) I believe Higgins and Plex (The Mechanic : ) ) will build upon their "success" of last year. "" because Higgins was on pace to have a ridiculously amazing career year with 50 goals and a silly amount of points...what a terrible shame that ankle injury did to him...it really took out momentum and ruined his game cos before that he was a moster of a player..truly all star material. (cynically it could have been just the line clicking and the other teams pacing themselves for a marathon of a season while the habs sprinted till dec..where they got winded...) Pleckanic on the other hand will have a delightful season in terms of production, barring any injury etc of course. Komi fits in the same category as Plex IMHO. I , like many of us here have high expectations for Halak and Price. Am I the only one that advocates and hopes for Huet to have a career year (he is ufa....) and be traded for whatever else is needed in the GMs eyes...This scenario will only occur if Price or Halak is already established in the NHL and the gm feels that they can ride either of them into the playoff push...etc...This is a decision for the management...if Price and Halak need more development time, then we have huet who is in general... reliable...(Understatement considering Huet's career stats outshine Brodeur and Roy...he has a NHL career saving pct of .918) see http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?i...e=nhl-canadiens We are in no hurry to do anything, Bob G is running this club like a chess game, and not speed chess. We have 3 sound..and solid goalies...(both in terms of ability and potential ) with this embarassment of riches it would only make sense to trade a goalie at some point and cash in for some decent return...huet being a ufa seems the most likely candidate...(although our last ufa trade bait at deadline was a gamble (in keeping shelly at deadling) that almost bit us in the ass...) it did..but getting the HAMMER ( Hamrlik ) was consolation. Finally on this matter, bob g said...we are very secure in a very important position in hockey..the goalie position. I firmly believe Markov will continue his success with us and might even get the A despite his quiet nature. He is simply one of the most skilled players out there. In terms of ability on the ice he is defenitely and example all young players can model their game around...We can all take a page out of Andrei Markov's hockey book! Carbo's system? Erm...what is it exactly? He may have a good system...but I definitely saw last year a lot of players having trouble with it...Evidently Kovalev..mentioned he was not too big of a fan of defending etc...he wants offence! Same with Samsonov...some players, a lot of players last year had problems with the system...I say a lot because 1 or 2 is a lot for me...I believe that the players you mentioned...are character players and will fit into the system because Bob G got them because he believes they will fit into Carbo's system...Breezer indeed showed a lot of balls coming back...with a reduced contract..a renewed fire to redeeem himself , his 5 dman status and PP role im sure there is the posibility he MAY thrive... The rock (lapiere) really has his spot solidified on this nhl roster...the management like his style and his production. He is definitely an energizer for the team. Grabovsky as HUGE potential to REALLY fire up the team with his finesse, moves, feinting, skills etc.., we have tons of players with skills what we may need at this point is the ideal mix of skill and POWER...hitting etc...Chips may very well energize us in the nhl with his game...he brings a lot of game..he gots game...I personally hope Chips and Grabovsky play regularly with us in the nhl be it on whatever of the four lines we rotate...Once i read an excellent comment on this forum...if Lats can make the team at 19 with little or no ahl experience what is to prevent the AHL stars on the bulldog roster...(something to that effect) Again the habs management will operate and act in the best interests of the organization and make the best of the situation. Kovalev may be still an issue but this will be shadowed by success elsewhere so attention to the negative aspects of kovalev will be diverted. Can kovalev really have a worse season then last year? I think not. Low expectations from pundits can be a good thing..takes off presure and firey players will use it to make them work harder...renew their passion to prove their critics wrong. Some the best atheletes in the world thrive on negative comments because they just use it like the borg..assimilate it to make them stronger..resistance is futile WE ARE THE HABS! The nhl has reached a lull in trades...trades of significance seem rare these days..many teams operate and improve from within (bob g's admitidly his own ..prefered and selected policy he is implementing and currently executing...) Habs fans should not expect a deal to get high end talent at all. You cant make wine of water...if you want to trade for wine we would have to trade wine in return. (Just an analogy if you get my drift) I would like to add we will miss Perezoghin, Johnson and Bonk...but not ninimia, rivet. Samsonov, was a shame it didnt work out...he will find success elsewhere. Kovalev, Dandy, Cube really had substandard seasons and should really not be pleased with their production last year. Carbo is not infalible...habs really have really get over this fetish of trying out new inexperienced coaches...it is a tall order, and wishing and expecting too much for Carbo to develop into an elite coach who will bring us the stanley cup. If you win the stanley cup it will never be Carbo's tactical genius or his intellect. That said, he does provide a lot of help for our organization...personally i would have loved bob g carry on as coach / gm....the team played better hockey and had more drive and passion...players prefer playing for proven ex players..bob g is a legend..carbo was..erm a avg player at best? (harsh..but arguable) ( i know everyone is screaming gretzky and cayotes right now...) Finally I can say it is very difficult to accurately predict a full entire season...there are so many unknown variables etc...however I will be suprised if we do worse...and if we do...it is only a matter of time before this team it explodes into a elite team because its brimming with so much up and coming talent...
  15. yes but the point is...he WAS ours..and then dispensed...but good point nevertheless..( i guess we have better prospects coming up and / or he is not impressive enough for Bob Gainey et all)
  16. Good points everyone....but jmmr you really made laugh with that post hahahah good one!
  17. Just a thought..the leafs have signed former habs...despite the fact they never played with the "senior" team...will the loss of these two players to our arch rivals haunt us? or were they needed moves because we are fostering and developing better talent?
  18. http://www.hockeysfuture.com/articles/9854...pects_fall2007/ enjoy my fellow habs fans : )
