i think the fact that we've been struggling defensively and having about just Markov who can push back a good attack from our zone really striked for offensive players like A Kost Plek and Kovy. the fact that we struggle defensively and especially in our transition game also hurts players like them and other trios. Look how widely spreaded the forwards are because we struggle defensively....they spend a good time of their time into the defensive zone instead of neutral and attack zone....they have less time possession than before. I think Kovy will be just fine with his good upsides and downsides as soon as we polish and execute the transition game better....

I completely agree with you. Anyway we'll need very good young defensemen in the upcomming 2-3 years and hopefully they'll be solid and be at ease with the team whenever they arrive. The main factors are potentiel development and adaptation. Hopefully Fischer, McDonnaugh, Subban, Weber all make it in the end. Then there's always some dissapointments and surprises...However for drafted prospects...dissapointments only come often from a very subjective and word to mouth comments by having very high hopes like every prospect will be at his summum at 18-20 years old instead of at 24-25...and that is a world of difference for 95% of the players who are being drafted. Comments do seem encouraging.

I'd really like some news about Weber. I saw his stats but how does he behave on the ice?

He is an added value in terms of fighting but he cannot and i believe there isnt a single fighter out there who exclusively fights everyone who disrespects any of his teamates during his 5-6 mins of gameplay. He's an added value as long as the team itselfs supports each other and plays hard. If they rely on him to single handly everything that goes on the ice....i dont think that's the Georges Role with his limited ice time. It's a good portion of his role but he cannot go crazy all around the ice and hits everyone in the ice. He can certainly be more disruptive(unsure of the word) for the other team by provoking more stuff yet if the guy dont want to fight him...what do you want him to do? a Sucker punch behind the head? Like he said ...he has to be smart and even with the pests from the other teams out there...they have to be 2 to dance fight. Also like other posters mentionned on this board...he also needs to play a bit more and get more ice time to make his influence perceptible if anyone claims he needs to hit and fight more... And if we come to this conclusion it means our 3 "offensive" called trios dont do their job...and that is the real issue to me because we would never talk that much about George if the team would be leading because the frustrating situations wouldnt happend so often with wins. Secondly, George cant go rumble all the time when we try to catch up to the other team. I seriously think our biggest problem right now is having a solid defensivemen to complete Hamrlik that can shot on the net and make 1 first decent passes which Obyrne, Brisebois, Bouillon, Dandenault and Gorges dont presently do in my mind.

I think yannick weber needs more time in AHL but could he be a short term solution swapping him and OByrne from Hamilton?

Problem is the cross pass is now too predictable for the CH now. They need to add in a mix of more simple plays with more shooting i believe. They try too much to do 3-4 tick tack toe passes before shooting. I dislike the way we play oByrne and Latendresse plays atm- they loose every single fight for the puck and especially OByrne state of mind is going thru all NHL. If i was any forwards of the other team i would do all my plays to enter the zone on his side, or shoot the puck behind him all the time. On a more positive note, i do like our PK which is funny because. The main thing i dislike is the fact that players hide between their victories so far but they have yet to play to their potentiel. I question their ethic of work in a full 60 minutes game. I dislike the way many players right now(since 2-3 games) simply dont move their feet and dont seem to give their all heart into their playing.

i've gotta agree he doesnt impress me at all. If he at least would complete or do something by himself. Sure he did a few bodychecks but he's NEVER at the friggin right spot... I know some people will tell me that he still scored some goals...well many other players would have too with tanguay and koivu....

How did you guys like Lapierre work. I know this kid works hard, but he doesnt get me excited at all. He's a mediocre jack of all trade centre, yet in my mind he's better on the wing... I think i judge him too hard but still...he leaves me indifferent even for a quebecer...kinda like Dandenault
