  1. Thoughts on the game 1) BGL needs to drop the mits...and gtf off the first line..he's not helping it at all 2) Gainey needs to juggle lines..maybe put higgins with andrei and pleks and hope higgins game inspires the other 2 3) Gorges should sit and Weber goes in next game 4) Maybe Scratch Plex and put Stewart in for a physical presence 5) We will NOT win this series unless we capitalize on PP advantages...thus meaning that we have to play harder next game to get those chances :puke: :puke: Ok first game...but not enough tenacity
  2. I smell overtime already GO :hlogo: GO!!!!! Kovy, Koivu, Tanguay line needs to reunite for normal lines...enough of BGL on the first
  3. i just heard Schneider could be out with a broken collarbone
  4. Win or Loss...You Know He'll be Smiling Keys to the game: 1) Stay out of the Box! Chicago has a damn good Powerplay 2) Draw First Blood 3) This game will require a full 60 minute effort for a W I'm going to side with the Hawks on this one and say 4-3 Markov, Kovy, S.Kost Toews, Havlat, Versteeg, Pahlsson
  5. Muller thinks the habs are good with 4 shots only
  6. for those of you needing a internet link for the game streamed [link censored. keep the site out of legal troubles, share links in PMs only] I'm going to try and be optimistic for this game Nope...Kovy won't move his damn feet...GET OFF THE ICE YOU FLOATING BUM Cmon...me and being positive...thats like Colin without Sarcasm I expect the best performance of the year from them tonight...its do or die time GO :hlogo: GO
  7. The difference is...Koivu, Kovy and Hammer have all made a living for themselves...they can retire today and be well off....the same can't be said for the kids!!! So they need to get their asses in gear and show Montreal what they got!
  8. Yeah...so how about he starts on Tuesday and stands on his fcking head for the rest of the season-post season!! Because I know Ward Did!
  9. GO HABS GO I am in Montreal right now going to the game tonight.... I hope they dont let me down AGAIN....the habs 2-2-1 when I attend a game this year
  10. So does that mean Kovalev should be resigned too? He's got a suite to accommodate sick kids at the Bell centre...does that mean he's not going anywhere? I'm pretty sure Bob and Kovy have a close ties as well...but sometimes you gotta cut some strings loose even though it's painful at first. The Canadiens have to do whats best for the organization in the long term....not cater to players needs. Also, I'd cut Bob loose as well...this non-negotiation process til the end of the season is a hunk of b/s if you ask me.
  11. Well....Bob Hartley i'd like to see behind the Habs bench...I think he's the guy for the job...wont put up with the teams BS. As for Gainey's potential departure...why are so many of you thinking that the sky is going to fall down? Name me one trade that Bob Gainey has done that has gotten the Montreal Canadiens to be a potential Stanley Cup contender and not pretenders?....exactly...you can't name one. And if you Say Ribs for Ninnemma...i'll find where you live and projectile vommit on your car :puke:
  12. I like having Stewart in for toughness as he has rightfully earned a roster spot with some fantastic fighting...but I don't think anybody on the leafs is going to scrap Laraque so thats just dead weight. I would much rather have brought Sergei back up to distract Garbageofski instead of Laraque!!!
  13. I know...i really haven't....considering I'm going to the Saturday game. The Canadiens are 2-2-1 when i attend games this season
  14. Cares is Price's new nickname...because I just read 6 pages of absolute RUBBISH on him from this board Listen...to all of you mentioning the Calder Cup and that stuff...cut it out. It's like your beating your heads against a cement wall hoping that when you wake up from your unconscious state of mind that he has a Stanley Cup to his name. Nobody should be comparing Carey to Patrick...two totally different levels. It's evident that he is struggling; and I will be the first: hate to say I told you so when I knew he was being rushed into a position that he simply was not ready for. Best of Luck to him. Now on the game...Kovalev and Koivu were both non factors helping the UFA dilemma. I've given up...we're screwed...and we're out first round. So lets all just take a deep breath, admit that this 100th season was not meant to be, and be optimistic towards the future with the likes of not having Cowboy Bob as GM to make stupid and stubborn decisions like tonight. :hlogo:
  15. I feel a big t!ts, pleks, or Kovy goal in the 3rd! GO HABS GO! :hlogo: theyve battled too hard to come out empty handed!!!!
  16. I've read every post from pages 4-6 and I have to agree with most of you...this Carbonneau firing is beginning to look very bad...it's not like the Edmonton win was a definitive statement by any means. I don't think it matters if you put Jean Beliveau, the ghost of the rocket, or Stone Cold Steve Austin after some steveweisers back there....the fact of the matter is this: THIS TEAM CAN'T PLAY 60 MINUTES OF HOCKEY. Gainey got rid of Carbonneau to save his own behind; however, I think with a few more losses...the sky will be falling down in Montreal again and Gainey's ass will be above the burner. Instead of pointing fingers here there and everywhere, why don't we look at the bigger picture and point at the "BOB" that so many of you on here TRUST. How can you trust him if he himself can't manage to get a team with so much talent going? This team reminds me of the leafs a few years ago...dance with the best of them, lose to the worst of them. Now...On the game Price looked outstanding tom the bomb and stewart...god bless them this game made me realize how much the PP would hurt next year if Kovalev were to not return I love how the crowd isn't putting up with the lackluster play and the Boo Birds are live and well wtf is with the Ole chant when we are losing?...are people that drunk? its a Thursday night game for god sakes! i'm upset with the fact that they lost....but maybe it will be a reality check to them
  17. Are you kidding me? Patrick Roy is not ready for a coaching role in the NHL. These two candidates should be highly considered once this season is history: 1) Bob Hartley 2) Pat Quinn Bring some coaches with EXPERIENCE and CHAMPIONSHIPS in from NHL/International Level
  18. Bob Hartley should be the guy to go in...has a cup win...brought a sh*tty team like atlanta to the playoffs...I think he would be a great fit
  19. YEP...great leadership on this team...both the captain and assistant are in the box.... I LOVE YOUR CONFIDENCE BOB GAINEY...I WISH I COULD BE AS OPTIMISTIC AS YOU
  20. Cube: There is no room left for a defenceman like Boullion. Our Back End is fairly stacked. Let him walk Breeze: I think it's time for him to hang the skates up and call it a career..it was a good run Dandyflower: Dont let the door hit you on the way out....he asks for a trade and he can't be utilized in a D or O role on the team anymore...plus hes aging Koivu: From 1996-2009 he has not got this team past the 2nd round of the playoffs....he has had some marginal at best linemates over the years...I thank him for his service wearing a CH, but I think it would be best to let him walk to a team like Minnesota Komisarek: Despite his subpar season thus far, I think Komisarek is the backbone of the Canadiens blueline for years to come and I like how much of a character he is in the dressing room...sign him to a 3 year deal. Kosto: I say resign tom the bomb to a 1 yr deal...him stewart and metropolit can be a good shut down energy line Kovy: Well he's due for a good season since he's stinking it up bigtime this year...ink him to a 2 year deal...throw the C on him...and see what he can really do with the pressure of not dueling with Saku Lang: We all know that a player is never the same after a achilles injury (see chips). Also the only reason Lang looked good this season is because everybody else was just THAT bad. Schneider: in the past few games I have seen him get beat on raw speed....I would give him a 1 year deal and put him in a 5-6 spot role only for PP purposes. Tanguay: If he wants the big money contract then let him walk...he hasn't done much this season and has proven that he is injury prone. RFAs: Diago: Match any offer sheet this guy is the real deal! Higgins: Dont sign him to a 30 goal scorer contract...give him a 2 year contract and put him in a 3rd line role with Lats and Laps Latendresse: His game really did come around before he got injured. I'm still very optimistic that his size and goal scoring hasn't been utilized to its fullest yet...give him 2 more years to establish himself...I think he could score 25-30 next season. Turtleneck: Well...he lacks size...he cant score much...and he isn't all that good on faceoffs. I say let another team scoop him up and find another 2nd line centre. Next Season is NOT our season. There really is not much out there UFA wise and Marian Hossa is not the answer. I say wait it out and make next year a rebuilding season...let the rookies establish themselves. In 2010 really load up with some big name signings. A big name centre is a MUST. Our D corps will be loaded come 2010...Markov, Komisarek, Emelin, Hamrlik, Subban, Gorges, Obyrne, McDonagh. Up front Diago and MaxPax can only get better...Bring sergei back up and let him find his game with andrei...I really think they can turn out to be like the sedin twins. Kovalev I want resigned only because I find that he always plays better with the C on his chest. The Habs gave Saku 13 seasons to prove himself...I think it's worth giving Kovy 2 more seasons to show MTL what he's really made of. There really isn't a why to it...everything I've mentioned is pretty much self explanatory. The Canadiens would have a lot of cap space that would make it possible to accommodate a big name first line centre that they have been lacking since the early 1990's!
  21. I suppose but I don't cheer for Alex Kovalev...I cheer for the Montreal Canadiens and they have to do what is best for the organization. If they have to sacrifice a contract like Koivu and Kovalev's in order to land a true Superstar like Lecavilier than so be it.
  22. I officially announce this as the Fire Gainey and Carbonneau thread moreso Gainey since he's so CONFIDENT in the group he has :puke: The only positives I can take from this game is that Price at least gave them a chance to win and Obyrne dropped the mits
