I can't see them trading him if he's available to play for them. The Spits should be in a win now mode as they are hosting the Memorial cup this year. They had 3 drafted in the first round this year (Stanley and Brown) so should be a decent team. I'll have to head to a few games this year if I get a chance.

Renaud Lavoie is reporting that Gabriel Dumont won't be back next season. He wants to try a new path with another NHL team. Not good for the IceCaps but completely understandable. Wish him the best.

I would be happy with that if they could get him for cheap. Play him at left wing on the second line. Still would need to sign a top right winger like Okposo but Vanek at the right price would be good.

That would leave Beaulieu exposed in the expansion draft though unless we switched to just protecting 8 skaters and a goalie. He would definitely be taken if left exposed.

Leafs acquire Frederik Anderson for the 30th pick this year and a 2017 2nd round pick. The first of many moves teams will make in preparation for it. Also Florida acquires Keith Yandle and now have to find a way to sign him. 6th round pick and a conditional 4th (if they sign him).

Strombo is on a five-year deal so it makes sense financially for him to stay around. Agreed that his interview skills are top notch and they should work that into the show in some way. The second intermission in my opinion is something that needs work. Maybe give him a slot there. Wish they never got rid of the hot stove as I quite enjoyed it. The interviews that MacLean made quite interesting were when he would interview Gary Bettman. MacLean was great at getting under his skin and actually led to Bettman boycotting CBC. Could be a reason behind MacLean being replaced in the first place.

Tomorrow at 7pm get to watch second round action and then at 10pm game seven of the first round. So weird to be starting the second round before the first round is even over. Happens in the NBA but I can't remember it happening in the NHL. Hopefully the second round has a great series like that Chicago/St. Louis one. Was very entertaining hockey and close.

Like seeing Patches get the 30th. The players were definitely looking for him to get it. Most excited about Galchenyuk getting it though since it sets a precedent.

Nice game thread. Is it sad that the only thing about this game that I looked forward to seeing was how Backstrom did in his first game back after so long? Hope he does well.

Looks like Smith-Pelly liked playing here. Was very emotional in his scrum with the media. Dressing room must be really tight if he feels this way after only a year with the team.

Haha ya its starting to get really hard to have much interest in these games. It's the way that they are losing that makes it so bad. The great thing about young fans. They don't have as bleak of outlook on things as us. They are there to see their favourite stars and will continue to cheer them on no matter what. Have fun tonight and hope the Habs give him something to cheer about.
