Once again, Price is not sharp but his team mates have a habit of screening him at the worst possible moment. If you watch the replays, you see he is in good blocking position, the thing is making a save when you can't see the puck is positioning and luck...Price is having some very bad luck. O'Byrne skated right in front of the shot as the puck was released on the first goal, the second goal was through Komi's leg and deflected off of him. At the other end, I saw only one good screen all game on Biron. It was by Koivu and resulted in our 2nd goal. Even a casual hockey observer must understand that any starting NHL goalie will stop 99.9999999% of shots he has ab unobstructed view of...this is why players screen and deflect so much. Philly is doing a great job of it we are doing a very soft job of it. To me that's the difference.

It's a tough call, the team really rallied in front of Halak, but was it Halak or the 5 minute major or Carbo screaming at them after the 2nd? I'm not going to say Price is on top of his game, but bonehead moves like O'Byrne skating in front of him as the shot is being taken is not helping him any. It's up to Carbo and Melanson to get in to Price's head and see if he's ready for game 4. Halak has not been playing much hockey the last few months, he may not be the savior a lot of you guys are hoping he is...he only had to make what, 2 saves tonight...and he looked shaky on one of them. The good thing going in to game four is; we won the third period big time and the power play got two goals. Win game 4 and we're back in the drivers seat.

But Bob didn't have to pay it. Players and agents will ask for the most they can, why wouldn't they? GM's are the ones that agree or show them the door. I don't get holding it against the guy for asking for the best contract he could get.

I'm with you, I never stopped supporting Theo and it was great to see him steal the first round. Poor guy has the flu and some people just can't help themselves and are looking for meltdown part 2 He'll be fine in game 3...some of the anti-Theo gang should strap on the pads next time they get the flu and see how much they feel like playing

Biron was ok, made some good saves, got lucky...if that was his best, no worries! Price, I'm a big Price supporter, but he wasn't sharp tonight, 2nd game in a row...welcome to 20 year old goalies. No point making excuses for him, Millen summed it up best...he's young, he wasn't sharp, doesn't mean he isn't a great goalie. I'm not overly worried yet either, 2 at home would have been nice, but 1 on the road puts us back in the drivers seat!

I thought that at first too, but something was screwy with the video. The girl wearing the Price jersey showed with the numbers backwards and many others showed backwards CH crests. Other parts of the video he's on the left side of the car...so I'm guessing either there's a glitch in the video or the poster purposely reversed part of it.

For all the reasons stated above, I have no problem with Price missing out on rookie of the year, it's a fairly meaningless popularity contest anyway (not sour grapes, just how I've always felt about it). His reg season numbers over all are not spectacular. He sure has gained a fan club on CBC and TSN however.

I'm also a Huet fan and, gasp, still a big Theo fan...but Price is our man and I couldn't be happier! Huet was and is a class act, I will continue to cheer him in every game he plays that is not vs The Habs. IN CAREY I TRUST!

Absolutely...but being an ex-Montrealer I know to make the best of a bad situation.

I really doubt that this was fans rioting. We've all seen this before in other cities, it's not unique to Montreal. I'd bet there's a criminal element that waits for a big win, knowing emotions will be high and booze will be flowing...incites a riot and uses it as cover for looting and robbery. I mean come on, some of these guys had ski masks on! How many FANS show up to a playoff game in April with a ski mask in their pocket? Pre-meditated criminal activity in my opinion. A Leaf buddy was bashing me this morning about the rioting and how terrible our fans were. My response was that this goes on in many cities. Living in Toronto you're insulated from it as no major sporting event has been won in your lifetime...still waiting for a response

I've questioned Koivu over the last couple of years, but he finally proved to me tonight what he brings to the team. A leader who digs down deep and leads by example. No, he may not be Vinnie, he may not be Sid, but he's a real fireplug and I now stand fully behind him...he's stepped up more than once this year and playing as hurt as he must be is inspirational!

I don't see why apologies are necessary for players who disappeared and then re-appeared for game 7. The boys dug down deep for game 7 and earned the series (Price's 3 stolen wins didn't hurt either). I was worried but my faith was not shaken at any point. Guys like Kovy now have a problem. They proved they can play hard nosed hockey and win when it counts...now we'll expect it more

A couple of games ago he said Carey Price is the real deal and hands down the rookie of the year. Say what you want about Cherry, he knows the game as good as or better than anyone on the planet. The guy gives credit where credit is due, every time...so his favourite team is the B's, I can live with that.
